Salem, Oregon - Saturday (7/20/19) hit a high of 87*. Today was a perfect day to leave my car in the driveway and ride my bike to the best Saturday Market in the Willamette Valley. I am a big fan of supporting local small business owners, food artisans, craft bakers, farmers, artists, musicians etc. Plenty to see, eat and purchase from over 150 vendors providing handmade, handcrafted or homegrown products; sharing the fresh bounty and local products from the Mid-Willamette Valley. The flowers displays were a big hit with the crowd and the fresh berries were bursting with colors and flavors that were absolutely splendid. Fun crowds and a family friendly vibe - something for everybody to enjoy - the perfect way to spend you Saturday relaxing with friends and family - while supporting our neighbors and the Mid Willamette Valley economy. Check out that solar powered knife / tool sharpening booth - very cool...

Read moreI took my daughter and great granddaughter to the market this morning. While i drop in frequently to pick up produce I don't often wander the booths. We did today and had a great time! The vendors and townspeople are always so friendly, gushing over the baby's fire-red hair. We purchased some great finds, unusual polished rocks for my granddaughter and a homemade wooden car for the infant. And we ran into my favorite vendor who makes bomb barbecue sauce. And we bought some chocolate Carmel corn from him since my granddaughter said it's 'to die for!'. Do yourself s favor and visit the market on a cool morning before the heat sets in. Chat it up with the vendors and learn about what the do. The market had plenty for everyone to be...
