Welp, this place is one of my faves but its definitely not for everyone!
Its not like Londonderry, or Derry. Its very "interesting" and unique.
Some people have organized tables, some people have blankets with boxes full of junk. And when I say 'junk' I mean some guy finds a free box on the side of the road and brings it to the flea market. No joke I have found fast food from the 90s in a box once! Lots of people that do storage unit or house clean outs and bring it here. From AC units and car tires- to designer shoes and basil plants. You can genuinely find everything here. Very multicultural and can find clothes/food from many different places inside.
On the positive side, you can find EVERYTHING here. The prices depend on the dealer, but are usually reasonable. Some people are nicer than others! Every week the outside changes so even if you go weekly you'll always find something. Perfect place if you're trying to furnish an apartment. If you're into vintage clothes, jewelry, cars, toys, art, music- you'll find it. I have found real gold and silver and payed actual cents for them. Also vintage designer clothing and rare video games. Most dealers just want to get rid of stuff and don't really know what they have.
On a negative note, I would never ever bring a child here. I really don't understand why anyone would bring a baby or toddler here! Its filthy! People are swearing, cursing, fighting. I've found needles in the parking lots. And if your child understands spanish they will learn new 'fun' words from the music that some vendors play! This place it the opposite of child friendly!
Its all dirt no grass or pavement. I have found an urn, broken thermometer, asian fetish p0rn, used diapers, dead mice, and much more in the five years I have been coming here. Some guys litterly take boxes out of storage units without looking through them and drop it on the ground. And you go through it-
If you're into any of that I recommend it. Its kinda a tough place, but if you don't mind the rough exterior there are some great people and things there that are definitely worth...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI like the Salem flea as the sellerās price to sell. It is multicultural as there is diverse seller and customer base. I like the people both the sellers and the customers. I always talk to cool people there. This is the most ghetto flea market I've ever been to but you can get an amazing bargains there. It is a great resource for used CD's. I once bought a whole set of beat up golf clubs with a quality golf bag for 6$. I am amazed at the low-quality borderline trash that many vendors sell. The outside section is my favorite part although it is often muddy. The inside section which is similar to a giant dollar store set up in a large confusing claustrophobic fire trap setting. Inside the vendor lanes are amazingly crowded with flammable items lining the walls. I donāt think itās safe in there. In my judgement it is inappropriate to bring children into the inside section as there is drug paraphernalia, cheapo knifes right next to childrenās toys with other weird stuff that I wouldn't want to expose any kid too. I go inside for one reason as they have a sketchy toilet and that is the only reason I ever go inside. I think everybody should go to this flea at least once. I visit often because I seek bargains. Often, I leave wondering why I went. Today it worked out for me as one seller had this huge selection of quality CD's each for a dollar, I got five rare titles in great shape almost free. I'm usually shocked at how inexpensively the sellers will part with their items. Toys, tools, clothes and all kinds of items most of which you would never want bought from storage lockers shows up there to be sold. A lot of times it looks like the seller cleaned out a dump and is selling debris. Thatās the good and the bad Itās all part of the territory at the Salem New Hampshire...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis flea market is split into 3 different sections. Thereās the indoor area, with individual vendors in fenced off stalls. Allot of what you find in the indoor section is dollar store items, toiletries, perfumes, used computers, cheap knives/swords, and āsmoking accessoriesā. Thereās also some stalls that sell appliances, and used merchandise.
For me, the indoor section isnāt worth bothering with. Most of the stalls have had the same renter for years, and most of the stuff they have has been already well picked through. The other issue is allot of the vendors donāt organize anything at all. They just heap, and heap piles upon piles of stuff to the point you may not be able to even walk into some of the stalls.
Thereās also the auto auction located at the far end of the building. Iāve never purchased a car at it, but looking at the cars going though it, my guess is its mostly high mileage, or older, or headache cars being sold.
The final section is the outdoor parking lot vendors area. This is the reason I come here. Yes you still have some people selling dollar store stuff, cheap clothes, cheap luggage, perfume, etc. But it also has the vendors that setup, and shut down every week, meaning fresher more organized merchandise. Allot of it can be yard sale rejects, but Iāve found some great deals on some...
