Swenson and Silacci Flowers — Attraction in Salinas

UPDATE (9/28/2021): The plant came to my house later that day. I don't like the inconvenience I had to experience but they delivered on this one. Literally and figuratively.

ORIGINAL REVIEW: I've ordered from here years ago because it was the nearest place to get flowers. Lovely place. Great selections.

This last visit wasn't the best though because of a technical, electronic oversight. This is a warning for people who choose the "pickup" option when ordering online. When you choose pickup it will ask you to type in the address you're picking up from. I was confused because on most sites if you choose to pick up, the systems the stores are using will automatically know to put the address of the store where the product is. Swenson & Silacci Flowers does not have this automatic step. I ended up putting my address in that section thinking it was for the billing address. When I went to go pick it up the person there could not find it then realized it was on the truck for delivery. She explained because I put my address on there it is being delivered. I tried to explain I chose the pickup options. We honestly could have went back and forth all day. I apologize if I came off as rude to the employee. They told me my order is being delivered instead so everything turned out fine. Just wanted to give a warning on how online ordering works with the site because it is something that could be easily overlooked. Be sure to type in the address of the store.

They may have this in place because they have two different locations. If that's the case they should probably make it more of a multiple choice option. One for Salinas and one for Monterey. Although on the website it says the Monterey one is closed. Not sure how up to date that is. If it's like their pickup system I might not trust it. If my plant ever gets delivered I'll post the picture here...

I worked with Swenson and Silacci for my August 2024 wedding at the Perry House in Monterey, CA, and it was a wonderful experience. First off, their showroom is so beautiful inside and I always had a nice experience when visiting the shop (I visited about 2 - 3 times during wedding planning). Everyone that works there is very kind, friendly, and helpful. For the wedding, I worked specifically with Andrea and she was amazing. She was always so kind when speaking with her, and she was so knowledgeable about her job and the process. When describing my vision, she understood what I was looking for and executed it perfectly. For my wedding, Swenson and Silacci did all the bridal bouquets, groomsmen boutonnières, wrist corsages for mothers, ceremony and reception table decor, sweet heart table, flower girl crown and petals, and fresh florals for the cake. I’ve order flower arrangements at Swenson & Silacci Flowers many times for different occasions. The flowers are fresh; the arrangements are beautiful; the service over the phone, and especially in-person are outstanding.

Special shout-out to Taylor at the front desk counter for being thoughtful and helpful when I came into the store in mid July 2024 to order a flower arrangement for a friend’s birthday. I also wanted to thank the folks in the back who worked on my order.

If my genuine review above isn’t enough to convince you to consider Swenson & Silacci Flowers, I also wanted to share that Taylor and the folks working on arrangements honored my request to replace one of the stem roses in my flower arrangement. I accidentally snapped one while I was storing it in my car for transport. This kind and understanding gesture is the reason why I will continue to go back here for all of my flower arrangements.
