The NPS store has gone down in quality of organization, stock quantity and deals/pricing over the last year or so. Perhaps the opening of the Orem location has stretched the store’s resources, but there is a noticeable decline on all fronts. The NPS store (National Product Sales) is a bargain store that “acquires inventory from overstock, unclaimed items, refused shipments, and damaged products”(as stated on their website). The industrial store is relatively organized by section, though much of the shopping must be done by digging through bins of helter-skelter goods. I generally plan on an hour visit to provide ample time for perusing and finding potential bargains. Please note that not all products sold at NPS are substantially cheaper than purchasing products new. I constantly have my phone out cross checking prices on Amazon to verify that purchasing an open box item or roughly handled merchandise is worth it compared to a new product online. The store has handicap parking, a wheelchair ramp and automated doors. Public restrooms are provided and relatively clean. I loved visiting NPS in years past. Hopefully they can get their system corrected, bring back the deals/reasonable pricing, and organize the store the way it was laid out in 2018 before they started making all these changes.

This is the state of this store. Its a mess, employees and managers are rude. It has continued to go down hill every year. Every time they get a bad review a good one pops up giving glowing reviews to the manager by name. (Suspicious Much?) Pricing is inconsistent or prices missing completely. And they wont price at the register. (Customer Service is non existent here) They will change prices at the register sometimes, accuse you of price switching. Employees gossip about each other and regular shoppers. Hours of bargain and drop areas are inconsistent. So many other stores like this one now. Value Vault, Big Deal Outlet, The Liquidation Team, Basically Any Bin Store, Restore, Storage Steals and Deals. Ive shopped here 10+ years. I only continue to shop here because of my non profit we can get a great deal here on items we use regularly when they go 70 off but every visit feels unpleasant and its sigh of relief when I get back to my car. So glad I dont have to come here often..lol @ Mario

NPS Industrial store, across the street from their grocery/general store is something that should be on everyone's list of places to visit, at least once. If you go, be a savvy shopper and know what what the value of things are, that's what the interweb is for. The store runs regular discounts and manager's specials. The inventory is best described as random hardware, sporting items, home decor, automotive and industrial goods sourced from various places; frustrated freight from UPS and RTV goods from Walmart, Home Depot and others. A special event happens on "Pallet Drop Friday", where the store's staff chums the waters as it rolls out fresh pallets, two at a time, to the hungry, waiting patrons, frothing to tear into the unsuspecting stacked and banded goods. Truly a sight to behold. Remember the inventory here is rapidly churned and extremely random and miscellaneous. Check back often, you never know what you may find.

I have been to this NPS location dozens of times. I have never been profiled and judged like I was today. I went in the store looking for a different hiking pack a new head lamp and a lock for my bike. I no longer have a vehicle and therefore I am on a bike and wearing a backpack which hurts my shoulders. I had picked out my lock and I was looking at headlamps and moved on to gloves knowing that Winters coming up while going through the gloves a young lady approached me and asked me to leave the store stating that she was with security. When I asked her why she said I shouldn't be throwing their merchandise. I was looking at gloves mind you and I wasn't tossing them outside of the bin I was just tossing them to the other side of the bin so that I could look at other gloves and try to find a size that would work for me, without going through the same gloves over and over and over again. Now to me a reasonable store or one with even mediocre customer service would have walked up to the customer and said hey can you please not toss our merchandise like that and that would be the end of it. I'd stop tossing the merchandise because they asked me to but instead they decided to throw me out of the store that seems like a bit of an overreaction to me, considering there were gloves and I'm not damaging anything and I wasn't tossing them outside of the bin. So to me it's pretty cut and dry that the only reason I was thrown out of there is because I look like a homeless person with a backpack on and they didn't want me in their store. When I entered the store I offered to leave my backpack at the front and was told no we don't watch your stuff you need to keep it with you so I tried to make a good effort to show that I'm not going to try and steal from you guys I'm not trying to cause a problem I just want to buy something but apparently because I look homeless I'm not good enough to shop at their store but I'm not homeless. I have a good job and I was going to buy some stuff but now I'm not going to buy anything from this store ever again and neither will anybody I know because that was the most ridiculous encounter I've ever had with somebody in my life. you shouldn't profile your customers and you certainly shouldn't overreacted throw them out if they're lightly tossing gloves from one side of the bin to the other. I do wish to apologize to those customers that heard the profanities coming out of my mouth as I walked out the store but I'm...

I’ve been hesitant about posting this review because I never like leaving a poor review, especially for a store I have grown up, shopped in and loved for years. As long as I can remember this has been “grandma and granddaughter bonding time.”

A couple of weekends ago, we decided to checkout their bargain bins area only to find the tent is gone! Grandma and I at first I thought this could be great (though the lack of organization and cleanliness kind of sucked, but I wash my clothes no matter where i buy from, especially this store lol). My grandma and I were having a great time, finding some awesome clothes that would work for my daughter and I.

My grandma held our cart, while I shopped mostly, (she was very anxious to leave it) and we got stopped by multiple different people, saying we were taking things out of their carts, but we weren’t, again, not a big deal. The manager, Tammy approached us, and was so rude and hateful, refused to hear our side of things, and proceeded to get in my grandmas face when we tried to explain, she said “I’M SHUTTING THIS AREA DOWN”needless to say we LEFT and didn’t buy a single thing. The employees try to keep peace, but it seems like they can only do so much, One of the employees looked so upset and embarrassed and I felt so awful for her, I couldn’t imagine my manager talking to me like that in front of customers. And WHERE IS THE SECURITY?

As we were walking out, the older heavier set man made a comment to my grandma that made her very uncomfortable, something that she won’t even repeat to me, so it must have been really inappropriate.

I feel like that manager needs to be talked to or even possibly reported, if I ever spoke to one of my customers like that, or got in their face without trying to de-escalate the situation, I would be fired without a second thought.

Everyone else was great! But she left a bad taste in my mouth. I want to come back but idk if I am comfortable enough to go if that manager is there, it was a very unpleasant experience, We made the smart decision to walk across the street and found AMAZING bargains on furniture, so all faith isn’t lost when it comes to NPS, just bring...

A Tale of Two Employees and One Bag of "Trash"

My recent experience at The NPS store was, in a word, absurd. I went in to return several large pipe fittings, a purchase from the day before that didn't fit my needs. I was fully prepared for the store's no-return policy on bulk metal items, and I accepted it without issue. My goal was simple: to purchase the correct fittings. What should have been a straightforward transaction quickly devolved into a baffling series of events. I asked a customer service employee if I could temporarily leave the bag of 18-pound fittings near the counter while I shopped for the right size. She refused, stating, "not on the counter." I assumed this meant I could leave them on the floor nearby. As I headed to the back of the store, a manager-level employee came after me, security in tow, to emphatically repeat that I could not leave my purchases at the front. When I asked what I should do with them, she disdainfully said I could "throw them away." Taking her at her word, I placed the bag of fittings into a nearby garbage can. This, apparently, was the wrong answer. The manager then loudly announced, "You'll have to take your trash to your own garbage can at your home." The irony of a manager referring to the store's own inventory as "trash" was not lost on me, but the disrespect was startling. After I told her I would take the items out to my car and would not be returning to the store, her final comment was a condescending "that's what you get when you throw a fit." I was not throwing a fit. I was an accommodating customer attempting to follow one confusing and contradictory instruction after another. The NPS store's complete lack of professionalism is a story I will happily share with anyone who...
