Sapp Bros. Travel Center — Restaurant in Salt Lake City

This is a large truck stop but gets fill quickly specially on weekends & on snowy days. Diesel fuel price is a bit on the high side but is of good quality, weigh scale is a bit tricky to enter so if you don't swing wide your trailer will not align with the narrow pads & you'll have to realign. Parking floor is in good shape, a few cracks in some places but that's normal however! California Avenue (the street where this truck stop is located) is like a war zone you better slow down or you'll have a very bumpy ride. If planning to spend the night you better enter from the fuel island side so you can back down easily on the modified reverse style parking slots, if U enter from the other side U will have a hard time parking because the slots are not on your direction unless U park nose in but I don't recommend it's better 2 drive around & and make a U turn to go in the right direction. Building has all the trucker needs (Clean bathrooms, premade hot food, a Burger King, a traditional sit in restaurant, a Caribou coffee shop even a vape store!) On 2nd floor there is a Dental clinic, a DOT medical examiner and chiropractor, laundromat, showers, a drivers lounge even an elevator 2 spoil U fancy! There is a repair shop 4 all your truck needs & U can get a free dinner or hot shower if U do an oil change or a repair, hourly rate prices are on the high side they do a decent job but stay vigilant & inspect the repair after 2 make sure it was...

Rude waitress . Got my food and wasn't cooked the way I ordered it. Hamburger I ordered med/ well, it was cooked well done. OK no big deal but the bun was hard and dry ( crumbly ) when I asked the waitress if I could get a fresh bun she blew up. You'd of thought I told her she was ugly or something smh. She went as far as telling me to leave ( which I didn't) I sat there waiting on my husband to finish his food. She made herself look so bad but she did humiliate me at the same time. Very very poor customer service and she should of lost her job. Oh and when we got in the apple barrel all the tables that wasn't being used was dirty. The place wasn't busy either. A person came to give us are menus and take are drink order, I asked if we could get the table washed. Then it took almost 10 minutes to get are drinks. When are waitress finally showed her face a coworker sd something to her and she said ( sarcastically) I NO BT I WAS ON MY PHONE. She finally comes to are table to take are order and she pulls up a chair sits down and takes are order ( very unprofessional). I use to like going to this Apple barrel when ever we was in Utah. But after this experience I will never go there again and I'm hoping ppl that reads this can see how badly those workers treat the customers will not go there. At least until they get new...

Had to do a 34 hour restart so thought I might as well have some work done on my truck. My front end I thought may have a bad bearing or something going on. Morgan one of the mechanics Jacked up the front end and checked my king pins and bearings and everything was fine. I appreciate the honesty because a lot of places would find something to charge you for. I then told him I had a problem with my APU. He never saw this type before but he sure put a lot of effort into getting it running. If I ever have a problem again with any of my trucks I know where I am taking them. Morgan is a big asset to this company and I hope they know that . I had taken two of my trucks to the TA and both times they Screwed the trucks up. I was really impressed with the way Morgan took care of my problems. I have never ever had a problem with my truck being worked on at Sapp brothers. But if I’m anywhere near Salt Lake I know where I’ll take them. The other thing that I was impressed with is that they do not take advantage of you like the other shops out there due In fact I have another truck that is sitting at Corinne ut and have told the driver to take it to Salt Lake to let the guys at Sapps work on it.
