I strongly recommend avoiding this place. After seeing how this business actually operates behind the scenes, it’s clear they survive on cutting corners, misleading customers, and ignoring basic safety and ethics. The public deserves honesty, so here it is.
First, the building itself is unsafe. There are exposed rusty nails sticking out of boards and walls, unstable and sunken floor sections you can literally fall through, and inventory stacked dangerously in walkways. Large parts of the warehouse are barely lit, yet people are still expected to work and shop around these hazards like it’s normal. I wouldn’t let kids wander around here for even a minute — it’s an accident waiting to happen.
Let’s talk about the gear. There’s a reason you will NOT find new or current-season equipment here from brands like Armada, Salomon, Lib Tech, Jones, Capita, K2, Nitro, etc. The truth is, they burned bridges with major suppliers and owe money to brand reps and distributors, so they were cut off. That’s why everything here is many years old, beat up, a cheap brand and still somehow priced like it just came out this season. If it looks new, it’s only because they bought it secondhand from someone desperate to trade in. Don’t expect warranty support or legitimate brand backing — they don’t have those relationships anymore.
Their “trade-in program” is another joke. They advertise giving “50% of retail value,” but what they really do is make up their own numbers and call it retail. They lowball customers and then flip the gear for ridiculous markups. Completely dishonest, in my opinion.
I also became aware of serious labor issues. They don’t pay people in any lawful or professional manner, and in some cases workers weren’t paid at all but were still expected to keep working for free. Meanwhile, they push the fake “family-owned good people” narrative online, yet from what I witnessed, they could easily have their own kids help in the shop if they’re that interested in “family values” instead of expecting others to work unpaid.
The owners are extremely rude and unprofessional to both staff and customers. If you ask simple pricing questions or challenge the condition of gear, they get defensive fast. They don’t care about customer relationships — only squeezing money out of whoever walks in.
Beware if you drop gear off for service — their record-keeping is a mess. They use an antiquated system slower than dial-up, staff are constantly being trained on it because turnover appears to be near-constant, and items routinely get misplaced or accidentally re-entered into inventory. That creates a real risk your equipment could be delayed, lost, or even resold without clear tracking. In my experience, I wouldn’t leave anything valuable here (and honestly, why would anyone stay working for free in that environment?).
Their business license was expired for months while they continued operating anyway, which tells you everything you need to know about how they run things. Rules don’t apply to them unless they’re the ones enforcing them.
And if this review mysteriously disappears, don’t be surprised. They try hard to keep a clean online image, but incentivized google reviews don’t fix the reality of what goes on here. Don't believe their lies and gaslighting.
Bottom line: this place is unsafe, dishonest, outdated, and not worth your time or money. Spend your money with real shops in Utah run by people with integrity who don’t scam customers, mistreat workers, and lie to the community. This business is a red flag from...
Read moreBEWARE!!! This place sells equipment that should be in the dump and pawns off their worst stuff on unsuspecting buyers. If you are new to skiing and don't know what you are buying, then absolutely stay away from these sharks. They will sells you the oldest and worst stuff they have just to unload it and then add on $20 here and there until you've paid through the nose for complete crap.
I didn't have very much to spend to buy all 6 of my kids ski equipment last year so that they could try out skiing. I thought if I got them the lowest packages from Ski Trucks that they could try it out and see if they liked skiing. I was that naive buyer and went in trusting the owner of the store. He pulled the oldest and crappiest skis, boots and poles he could unload on me (though I had no idea then) and then added $20 on for each pair of boots that I "upgraded." It ended up costing way more than the junk was worth. I could have bought them all new packages for what I paid, but I didn't know better then. I know better now. Run from this place!!! Do not buy their junk!!!
My daughter's binding screws fell out the fourth time of her using her skis and the ski shop at Alta said the bindings were so old they wouldn't even work on them. I took them back to Ski Truck to ask them to put in screws for me and I waited for ten minutes after I walked in the store for anyone to ask if I needed anything. When they found out I had a problem and wasn't buying anything I was reprimanded by the owner for not bringing the boots that went along with my skis. I didn't need new skis, or boots, I just needed the screws replaced. You shouldn't reprimand a customer anyway by the way. When they couldn't find any screws or even a ski that looked like the one I had (because it was SOOOO ancient!) the owner yelled to just charge me $20 and trade it in. When I saw the skis they wanted me to trade for (which were older and junkier than what I already had) I put my foot down and told him no way. Then the owner got nasty and said he should charge me $100 for my attitude. Then he said he would fix my ski for $15 if I was grateful! Are you kidding me??? Grateful for you selling me crap in the first place??? And by the way, I didn't show "attitude" as he was alluding to as my 3 littlest kids under the age of 9 were with me. If they hadn't have been there I might have used more choice words. Instead I just asked for my skis back and left the store. My 9 year old son said as we left, "That was so rude!" Even a child could see the customers in this store are treated poorly.
Do NOT buy from this place! You will get ripped off and if anything goes wrong he will rip you off again. He sells garbage and treats his customers like garbage. I only gave them one star because I couldn't give...
Read moreI’ve had a good experience here and a less than satisfactory experience. We were teaching my two year old nephew to ski and wanted to get some used gear for him to learn in. My nephews dad’s family has gone to this place for ages and it came highly recommended. This place has an insanely massive amount of inventory for skis and they will make sure that you get fitted for all of your gear. Ended up walking out with skis, bindings, boots and a helmet for the little guy for around $150. Grabbed some ski poles for my friend for roughly $20. Happy to pay those prices.
Skiing really seems to be their focus and where you can get the good deals. I looked for some new snowboarding bindings here and they didn’t have a good selection at all, but I wasn’t expecting too much anyways. Decided to look for a snowboard for the lady shredder and took her here to make sure we got a good fit. Their selection of used snowboards is disappointing, most brands were not great snowboard brands, but I figured if I could get a board and some bindings for a good price like we did with my nephew then I’d be happy. They wanted $275 for what I would consider thrift store equipment and a new setup would run me close to $500. So I got online and purchased a new setup elsewhere for just over $300. I heard them telling some guys a beginners snowboard package would run them $1200 -$1500 which is roughly over $600 of what I paid for my Burton setup. Absurd prices for snowboard gear.
So if you are brand new at skiing, want to get fitted or have no one to help you get skiing gear, go to Ski Truck and see what they can do for you! Definitely worth a shot. If you snowboard or know someone who knows an ounce about snowboard gear, just have them help you get some gear, plenty of options with demo boards or online sales. These guys are awesome, very helpful and very nice. They’ve also done a ton of cleaning and organizing in the past year or so and it looks much better inside. I appreciate what they do for the new skiers in Utah, just be cautious...
