Five Stars for La CarnicerĂa - My Weekly Meal Prep Staple! I absolutely love La CarnicerĂa off 151 in San Antonio! This place deserves every one of its five stars. What truly sets them apart, besides their incredible products, is their fantastic staff. I've seen other reviews mention a lack of English speakers, but that simply hasn't been my experience. Every single person I've encountered speaks both English and Spanish fluently. It's a refreshing and welcoming environment that makes shopping a breeze.
I make it a point to visit La CarnicerĂa every week because their tasajo is out of this world! It's become my go-to for meal prep for the entire week, saving me so much time and effort. The quality is consistently excellent, and the flavors are authentic and delicious.
If you're looking for a butcher shop in San Antonio that offers top-notch meats, incredibly friendly bilingual service, and amazing authentic Mexican cuts like tasajo, look no further than La CarnicerĂa. It's truly a hidden gem for anyone in the 151 area seeking quality meats and a great shopping experience....
Read moreIf you are looking for arrachera Southern California style .. then this is your best bet! We have been looking at different meat markets for asada and arrachera with no success.. till finally this place! I bought the arrachera âpreparada â and it was the closest to what we used to eat in San Diego. The seasoning they use is okay .. next time I would marinate it myself. But the meat is super tender. It is a little pricey but sometimes you are willing to pay to have the taste of home! I had called ahead of time to ask if they had carne asada and they said they did.. however when I got there the meat didnât really look like it. The carne asada was much cheaper, just fyi. Arrachera ( ranchera, which is what they called it) was $16 per lb and âasadaâ was $10 per lb. They have a very small selection of meats but it looks like good quality and like thatâs what they specialize in. The shop itself appears to be clean so thatâs awesome.. all in all I would and have recommended this place. Customer service was okay Will be going back when I need a...
Read moreI decided to stop in on my way home to grab a few steaks. The place wasn't too busy, but I wasn't greeted or acknowledged. Yet others were. I then realized not a lick of English was spoken and it made perfect sense to me. To test my theory I walked out and had my wife (shes Hispanic) go in a few minutes later while on the phone... every single worker acknowledged and greeted her. Shameful.
Yup, they lost out on a great repeat customer. Our family eat steaks 3-4 times a week and BBQ/Smoke on a regular basis. Too busy worried about the color of my skin vs the money in my wallet. Oh well.
They could learn a lot from Schotts (Alamo Ranch and Helotes locations)... every customer is acknowledged and greeted multiple times by every employee. They're eager to help and have no issue slicing something fresh on the spot if asked. Come to think of it... I need to go leave...
