Grand Tequila Mexican Restaurant & Cantina — Restaurant in San Antonio

Service was horrible. I went in to pick up a to go order. The lady at front welcome stand - blew me off and told me someone would be with me shortly. I waited 5 or 10 minutes and when noone came up to help me (and when they did not bring my food) ... I asked a waitress that was walking by for help and she said she would check. She did not check (or come back with an update) and I just saw her go up and talk personally with another coworker.

Another 5 minutes went by and still no food (or an update from anyone) ... so i caught another waitress and I told her to please cancel my order and I was leaving. I explained it had been over 15 minutes and I could not just keep waiting when noone was helping me or telling me anything about the order, for example, it was almost ready.

She walked up to the lady at the welcome stand and told that I was cancelling the order and that I could not keep waiting and then the rudeness from this person (Manager? Owner?) Was unbelievable! She threw down her pen and walked to the back and then immediately walked out with the order and rolled her eyes and slammed the bag on the desk and rudely stated here is ur food with an ugly smirk on her face.

I should have asked for her name to put on this post ... but you know who you are and you should be ashamed of your service and your rudeness.

The restaurant was not busy and I was a customer and you should have checked on my order and if not ready, I should have been given an update. But the food was ready but noone went to the back to check...so it just set there for 15 minutes?

But your rudeness is unacceptable ... I did nothing wrong and I just wanted someone to help me or bring me the food.. That is your job to check on my food, to give me an update if not ready ... AND YOU FAILED...

The food and drinks were fine but there are fees they charge for that are not explained beforehand. I ordered a frozen margarita during their happy hour and I was charged .30 cents for Lucas and Chamoy, I didn’t ask for either of those things and would have been happy with plain salt. The waitress was aggressive and rude from the moment I got to the table to meet my friends. Maybe because I was late, I don’t know but I treated her the way she treated me. She hovered over me when I was trying to decide what to order, I guess she didn’t realize that she should let me have some extra time to look at the menu without her hovering over me. Then when she gave us our bills she charged me for something that I did not order, so she had to correct it and she expected me to give her my card after she billed me incorrectly. I would not give her my card so I guess she was upset about that, and she was very rude, it went down hill from there. I did not give her my signed receipt and told her I would be giving it to the manager; so she proceeds to send the manager to our table. I was not going to do that I was going to talk with the manager discreetly and let him know everything that happened and that because of that I would not be leaving a tip and that I would never come back to their restaurant. That was my first time at their restaurant and it would be my last. That’s how bad that waitress was, and the whole time she was there staring at me and my friends like we had done something wrong. I would never recommend this restaurant and will not be back and the person who was our waitress was aggressively rude. From my photo you can see all the extra fees the restaurant charges. I wouldn’t give them any stars but in order to post a review you have to tap at...

My niece took me to lunch& this was my first time here so I was excited to taste the food. Unfortunately, we did not eat. Cameras will show that we walked in were not greeted immediately& when they did, we were asked if anyone had helped yet. The girl said they had 2 parties going on (2 p.m.) and we're waiting for 2 others to arrive. we asked how long it would be& were told maybe 10 minutes. I asked if she needed to put our name done because she started walking away. Well, needless to say, other people walked in, waited,then a family of 5. The wife stood at the greeter's station. As I observed, a short, older, rude waitress say them down so I informed her that she had skipped us& others and sat them. The reply I received was , well I didn't know in Spanish. At the moment I had been very patient and replied with: the the list is right there , you didn't even look and she ignored me and walked away. I waited for a few, thinking she would come back to seat us, apologize or get a manager, but nope.... She clearly walked by us and ignored us. At that time we decided to just leave because of the poor service we received. This was unfortunate as it was going to be my first time there and I was excited. Sad to know that people can be so rude & dismissive. I was so embarrassed. Grand Tequila, you need to do better with your hositng area and the waitress that was unapologetic, should be put on a permanent day off. What a disappointment. I will definitely not be recommending anyone since, I did not have the opportunity to even try it. Worse part is, the family who got seated knew they skipped us, but felt privileged but that's okay, because I am bro that person to start...
