San Antonio! Downtown Prime Hotel with Ultimate Convenience for Dining & Entertainment

While traveling through San Antonio on the way to Corpus with my mother, given my good previous experience with Omni I felt that booking the Omni in San Antonio was an easy and good choice. A day before arrival the hotel sent a text message and asking when we thought we were going to arrive and if we had any requests for the room, we let them know and requested a higher floor and extra soap as I like having some extra, and I also asked for the smaller bottles if they had went to bulk toiletries which I myself strongly dislike; more on that later. Upon arriving the property was beautiful and although it was a little annoying having to self park in a different garage, we got into the hotel in the end and given we were going to stay in downtown through this stay it all worked out in the end. Check in went smoothly and well and we were quickly sent up to our room. Generally I don’t stay in older hotels or buildings, mainly due to the common lack of outlets or sometimes finding overly old decor, but that was not the case here! The rooms were beautifully reimagined very recently, the decor was very nice and modern, and the room was by far cleaner and better than any room I’ve been given in San Antonio. The furniture was stylish and I love the beams in the room too, and this has definitely proven to me that Omni knows how to run a hotel! Once I got into the bathroom, unfortunately I noticed they went to bulk toiletries, I personally dislike these bulk dispensers as I find them to be gross and associate them with cheap public restrooms, not exactly what you would want to think of in a nice hotel. Upon walking all the way in though, right as I was about to go back down and request them, in the soap dish I noticed they left me a set of the tiny travel sized shampoo and conditioner and a bath bar so I didn’t have to use the gross dispensers, and I was so happy and impressed by such high levels of care for every guest and their unique needs. The AC did a good job keeping out the Texas heat, which was nice given our room opened right into the outside and the Keurig and smart TV were greatly appreciated too. Another thing I was surprised by how good the soundproofing was, despite being in the city in a relatively low rise hotel there was little to no noise at all in our room which was very much appreciated. As of my stay the restaurant on the river was closed, but not to worry, we were able to get breakfast at the El Collegio in the lobby, and it was very good, though the portions are more than enough to feed two people per dish. Overall, having stayed at many hotels in San Antonio, I think I’ve finally found the one I will be continuing to stay at, and I highly recommend this place, you cannot beat the service and cleanliness, and the location was great. I’ll definitely be back for another great stay!

The Omni La Mansion Del Rio was absolutely TopNotch!! The service from valet, to the front desk, to mgmt couldn’t be any better anywhere. I wish I could remember everyone’s names but unfortunately I can’t. A few names that stand out is Nevaeh, Marissa and Brian front desk mgr… 🤩 wow… went above and beyond to fix a Expedia issue and our room was by far the BEST with our own private balcony. Received a wonderful gift in our room same evening of arrival for our 10 year Anniversary ❤️…Thank you Omni!! Valet guys were all so accommodating and welcoming… they too went out of their way to take care of us… the bellhop was prompt at delivery of our luggage and very respectful and courteous. Honestly, can’t say enough great things about all the staff members here, which is rare. Whomever in mgmt hired all of the staff we encountered, 👏🏻 Great job on knowing who to hire and what it takes to run a successful business. Very clean premises and our room was superb!! There isn’t one negative thing to share or suggest to do or be better at…. My husband and I will certainly be returning and staying here again. Requesting our same room❤️👌🏻🍷. It was a wonderful Anniversary weekend and the staff and hotel made it a great trip!!! San Antonio didn’t disappoint, it was worth the 3 hour drive in… Food was excellent on River Walk at Iron Cactus- Brisket quesadillas were on point, the hand made guacamole at our table was delicious and the margaritas weren’t shabby. Hard Rock Cafe had some great bang bang shrimp and husband enjoyed a mouth watering cheeseburger, The Republic Cafe I believe was the restaurant we ate dinner at prior to boat parade and the Fried shrimp 🍤 were large and very tasty, I was impressed. Can’t forget the adult beverages at various stops along the river. Shopping was great, Alamo had construction going on around it, Coyote Ugly was mediocre. There was a boat parade Saturday evening to kick off the season… Holidays around the corner, it was great seeing all the lights on each themed boat and the people laughing and music and pure joy…. Our world needs MORE of this!!! Id give our overall stay a 10! It’s been 18 years since I visited the river walk last and I’m sad it took that long to return. One more thing I should mention, we visited the Hopscotch museum/ attraction it was quite enjoyable and my husband and I enjoyed laughs again like 2 teens. The boat tour along the river walk on boat 19 with boat driver/ Autumn is a character. She had us laughing from the time we took our seat til the time we exited the boat. It was definitely worth the 30 minute ride/tour. So if you are looking for a great get away, romantic weekend or just to relax, San Antonio Omni La Mansion Del Rio is the way to go.

Pros: Top-notch staff Clean room and bathroom Perfect location on the Riverwalk No noise AC...none Comfortable beds Bathrobes (at least in our room) Power and USB on side tables and TV stand Cons: Nothing of note First want to compliment the staff. From their calls before arrival, the valet, check-in staff, concierge and even greetings in the hallway, the staff were simply amazing. We experienced the kind of service you hear about in 5-star hotels. Perfect location for everything Riverwalk. Booked a room with a private balcony for our anniversary and the staff went out of their way to make our stay romantic and one to remember. They left a beautiful greeting for us within our room upon arrival. We appreciated the gesture very much. We had a wonderful anniversary. Thank you for making it special. The balcony for this hotel is as close as you can get without being on the Riverwalk itself. Perfect location for watching people and parades. When you're ready to head out, you're already there and just minutes (or seconds) away from great restaurants and other attractions. Our room was spotless with a modern TV and controller. Included a small refrigerator to keep your drinks cool. The room also has a Keurig coffee maker with complementary coffee and tea pods. Bed and pillow were comfortable enough that I didn't give it a second thought. Best of all the AC was whisper quiet, which I'm guessing was a central unit. No in-room machine keeping you up all night. The bathroom was clean with a large shower area. My wife appreciated the separate makeup vanity area, which offered more room vs. cluttering the bathroom. Overall, a great stay. I look forward to staying again soon. Thank you!

Amazing!!! Wonderful!!! Must Stay Here!!! You Won’t Regret It!!! We came to San Antonio for the first time, as a family, to celebrate our 27th anniversary. Where do I even start… Gorgeous hotel with unique and rustic vibes!!! Valet parking was great the entire stay and worth every penny! Reception was completely wonderful, helpful and patient. Thank you Marissa for being so kind and fabulous! Our room was fantastic!!! Super clean and comfortable with tons of space for the four of us! The private balcony had a gorgeous view of the River Walk and our location made it so easy to pop in and out to enjoy all the things! Friday was our anniversary and after spending the entire day at Fiesta Texas, we were too tired to do anything else. We were surprised upon our return, with chocolate covered strawberries and wine; the cutest little set up! Super sweet! We were also able to squeeze in a last minute room service order before the restaurant closed. Thank you Tara for being so kind and accommodating! I can’t remember her name, (Eli??) but the lady who delivered our food (and also brought up the gift) was very sweet and courteous. She set the whole thing up beautifully and the food was perfect! We had brunch at Four Brothers before heading home. Again, amazing top notch service and food! Thank you Fili for being so genuinely awesome and professional! The food was absolutely amazing! Thank you Omni La Mansión Del Rio for giving us the best experience with wonderful memories of an amazing stay!!! We will definitely be back! We plan to make this a new family tradition!!!

Really unsure on how this hotel could be considered a 4 star hotel. To start, the location is great and it’s easy to access considering where it is. Staff were nice and have no complaints about them. The hotel itself is unique and cute, but the room itself was the kicker. Firstly, it was extremely dusty, you could smell it when you walked in. After the first night we woke up in the morning and our phones and other belongings had thick layers of dust on them, it was gross. This hotel also doesn’t use fitted sheets which just seems insane to me. We also noticed that the sheets and comforter had the tag side UP BY OUR FACES. Motels on the side of highways have nicer made beds than that. We also noticed that the lights flickered A LOT, it was concerning and seemed like they had a lot more things plugged in than they should, there were sudden mini power surges every couple of minutes and the lights would flicker like a camera flash. We also had a used K-Cup in our coffee station which was disgusting. Also not a huge downside but the “balcony” is just a long hallway shared with every room. The best part of the hotel stay was being able to leave directly onto the riverwalk but the hotel stay itself was really disappointing ESPECIALLY for that high price tag. You and your family would enjoy staying at a “lower end” hotel for less than half of the price just as much, if not more. Trust me.
