My husband and I booked this hotel for our honeymoon. While the service was amazing the hotel manager and , concierge were nothing short of wonderful, it’s very overpriced for what it is. We were upgraded from the double queen size bed that we originally booked due to the price being a little more affordable, to a king size room with a riverside view. However, the bed was really uncomfortable and the pillows were not great either. We woke up to hip and back pain each morning. One of the night stands outlets did not work well with only one plug actually usable. The USB ports did not work at all on that side. There’s only one microwave for guests throughout the hotel to use located on the 4th floor (we were on the 11th). There was one snack vending machine and one soda vending machine, the soda machine was out of order and the 12 oz cans inside Starbucks were $3.25 each. Our biggest complaint though, was the holds placed on our debit card without warning. We are regular middle class people, we have made payments for the hotel through Priceline throughout the 8 months of our engagement. When they asked for a card to have on file for “incase we use room service or any possible damages that may occur”, they did not explain that there would be a total of 4 holds placed on our card totaling up to $450. The first two holds happened the night we got there both being $75 then the very next morning upon waking up there was another $119. We went to talk to front desk and they reassured us that there would be no more holds placed and we would get that money back after we left. Then the morning after that we woke up to another $179 hold. Our bank takes that money out of our available balance in our bank account. Which was almost half of the money we had in total to spend for our honeymoon! Money that we weren’t supposed to get back for 3-5 business days after we check out and go home! However, once we met with the hotel manager and let her know that none of this was explained to us upon checking in and we were going to have to cut our stay short because we were afraid they would take out so much to hold that we wouldn’t be able to do much of anything else for our honeymoon, she was able to get 3 of the holds dropped that same day. We checked out yesterday and this morning we’re still waiting for the $179 to be back in our account. The manager was very kind, understanding and patient with us. Which helped us to feel less silly about not knowing that what we should have done was provided a credit card and not our debit card.

We have stayed at this Westin off and on for about 15 years our kids actually grew up staying here but sadly the level of service has dropped considerably, I had to ask for luggage assistance it used to be as soon as I pulled into the drive the door personnel greeted us and jumped on the luggage , the staff at the reception seem distracted except for Kristen who promptly checked me into my 2 rooms for three nights she was right on point . We get checked in and our luggage gets delivered after having to ask for assistance we get to our room and find there is no remote for the TV I call down to guest services and waited for 45 minutes and no one has come up with one I happen to look in the hall and spot a housekeeping attendant named Flor who immediately went and got me a remote , the second night we noticed we couldn't control the temperature on the AC so it was a bit chilly in the room so I just turned it off and it was comfortable enough , our sons room had a leaking faucet which was fixed immediately however my other son noticed a hissing sound coming from the shower wall knowing from experience that there was a leaking pipe in the wall which we reported . On our departure day I called for luggage assistance twice and nobody answered the phone so I took care of it myself , I wasn't even offered assistance to load my vehicle at the drive. I did notify the Front desk manager upon a checkout about the issues so they can address them especially the maintenance issues. Not only am I a loyal customer of Marriott Bonvoy but also a retiree from said company I spent 31 years in hospitality and always gave my best service possible and I didn't see the level service I am accustomed to I really hope this is not what the future of Westin holds , what happened to "Surprise and Delight" ? I would like to continue staying here but please step up your game.

I’m sorry… this hotel is NOT worth the money. Should be more like $89 a night. Upon arrival, i was given a room that was not cleaned. Bed messy, towels on bathroom floor, literally not cleaned. 2nd room smelled old and moldy an was supposed to make up for being given a messy room. 3rd option was okay. Except the bathroom had tooth paste spots on the faucet (from someone brushing their teeth), the the tile grout is filthy black, there is dried blood on the bottom of the sink, the caulk is cracked, the room has been on 67 degrees since i arrived and it’s 75 degrees at best in here, the vent is full of dust and to top it all off, it smells old and like ketchup. I hate the smell of ketchup so i know when i smell it. The carpet has dirt spots in it and it’s already a dark brown color. The really sad part is this room is supposed to be one of the recently renovated ones. I’m checking out tomorrow and have not spent much time in the room so I’m just dealing with it. I’m being charged $51.00 a night for parking but the sign outside says $48.00. Went to unplug my watch and the whole dang socket came out the side of the dresser. I definitely will not be back. I’m giving 2 stars because the valet guys are the best part of my stay! Super nice and even went to get a bag out of my car for me. Housekeeping is definitely not keeping house. More like straightening up but definitely not cleaning.

The Westin Hotel is known to be a higher end hotel with higher price tags. This was not necessarily the case for this location. We booked a two double bed room with a balcony and for the area the price was absolutely phenomenal. I wanted to stay here no matter what because my sons name is also Westin and I didn’t know when we would get to stay in one again, especially for the price I got it! The views from the 14th floor of not just the river walk but also the city in general were stunning! The size of the room was the largest on our trip and they even put a robe in the bathroom. I will say I was sadly disappointed when I went to make coffee before our long drive the next morning to find not a single coffee cup in the room and there was no time to call and get one brought up. The staff were so kind but at check in I was helped by a gentleman who was getting text and responding to them while checking me in. That part was not so welcoming. The pool was heated and again an absolutely gorgeous view from there as well! The valets were so kind and very prompt to verify we wanted to have them park our car(yes there is a fee), which cost a total of 55.21 over night. It is located a few blocks from the river walk mall and most shopping in the area. Highly recommend staying here!

Upon arrival to the Westin we were checked in but not given any information regarding amenities or on site restaurants that were offered, basically just given room keys. Rooms: I was “upgraded” to a premium River view. Not sure the attached view is premium but hey I took it. As advertised on the website we were expecting Starbucks coffee for the in room coffee. The coffee machine was broke and some off brand was given. Air conditioning is more of like a low fan running all the time. Were only given one water bottle in the room. Restaurant: Don’t expect to be seated and serviced for breakfast or dinner. Had to go to local small business restaurants for food and drinks as every table was always dirty and the waiters on staff were understaffed and overworked. Gym: The gym needs major renovations as the equipment is close to breaking and causing Injury and there are no trash receptacles, and no sanitizing wipes for the equipment. Pool: No complaints employees on staff were great. Overall, would I rate this place 3 stars. If the price met the quality and amenities I would gladly rate 5 but paying $220-$260 a night is defiantly extreme.
