I took two classes here. Personal Fitness training tailored to fitness level. Great for training for a Tough Mudder or a Spartan Race or Dekka! It seems to be moderate to intense, so pick this place if you want to improve quickly and aren't concerned about that. The space is kind of like a giant storage unit, well-ventilated and with a surprising amount of equipment packed in there. (All the equipment is kept very clean. It does have a bathroom.)
Alex, the lead trainer and owner at F2R prioritizes training clients in form and fundamentals, and also has researched some advanced and more esoteric techniques. (While I was there, Marlyn the second head trainer (I think) did a demonstration and discussion of cupping, a suction-based topical practice affecting skin, blood flow, and the muscles beneath).
Saturday, the gym has extra time focused on theory and strategy 8-9am, with lots of stretching and discussion. It's a learning session for in-depth answers to questions. The general expectation is that clients attend two or more weekday trainings (as early as 5:30 AM for y'all early birds out there) as well as Saturday 8-10am.
When I was there, Alex put an emphasis on training that was transferrable; he said that his main goal was for clients to gain fitness knowledge and skills they could take to any gym. I asked Alex about my training goals for rock climbing and distance running and he had solid pointers and tips tailored to my needs; I was super pleased with the discussion we had. It was not just him talking, he listened to what I had to say too. Alex uses competition between groups as a motivator. On Saturday we did several rounds of exercises in that format, which I found compelling. Other clients were helpful in checking my form and answering questions. All in all it was very fun and of course tiring 😂.

Read moreI began working with Alex and Mar three weeks ago. During the first week, I trained at a location they were temporarily renting. On my first day, I showed up to shadow and help out with the 5:00 and 6:00 AM boot camp classes, but I was not made aware that this training would be unpaid. I’ve never heard of that in a professional work environment, and I found it to be an unprofessional approach. That said, they had a great group of clients, and I appreciated the structure and quality of the workouts Alex designed.
In the second week, they relocated to a friend’s gym while searching for a more permanent space. However, during the third week, after teaching the two morning classes, I was informed that they were discontinuing in-person training for adults to focus on their children’s program and transition fully to a virtual format. As a result, I was told that I would no longer be needed for the evening classes I had been scheduled to teach or any classes moving forward.
My main frustration stems from the lack of communication and advance notice. I had not scheduled any of my own clients for that evening, despite a shortened work week due to upcoming travel, because I was under the impression I would be teaching. Additionally, I planned a weekend trip around being back in time for the following Monday’s responsibilities.
Given their experience in the fitness industry, I would have expected a greater level of professional courtesy and respect, especially considering the challenges of managing multiple clients and commitments as an...

Coach Mar and Coach Alex have been providing speed and agility training for our daughters Charlize (12), Chloe (7) and Cheyenne (5) this past year and we have had a great experience.
They are highly professional and knowledgeable, particularly in speed and agility training. Coach Mar and Coach Alex go above and beyond to enhance not only the physical performance of our daughters but also their understanding of the soccer game. They incorporate drills that combine speed and agility with soccer-specific scenarios to further refine on-field performance. Our daughters have thoroughly enjoyed working with their coaches and we have observed noticeable improvements in their knowledge, soccer performance, speed, and overall confidence.
Additionally, Coach Mar provides one on one mentorship for Charlize. This process has helped improve her mental toughness as she navigates recent changes to a new soccer team. Charlize has gravitated and looked to her feedback and guidance. This has been such a positive experience and has made such a difference in her mindset, attitude and focus.
The training at F2R, led by Coach Mar and Coach Alex, has been a valuable and enjoyable experience for our daughters, significantly boosting their soccer skills and confidence.
Thank you for all that you do! We truly...
