One of the best skateparks I've ever been to (and I've skated all up and down the I-5 corridor, Seattle to San Diego.) A must see for any dedicated skater. There are many innovative features to challenge every style and skill level. The transitions are even, the concrete is smooth and the coping is set just right . There's an old school pool and a 6 foot shallow end to 8 foot deep end rectangular bowl with metal coping. But the oddities are what make this park a true five star master piece. The 20 foot full pipe run/bowl has endless lines to cut and the mid size flow bowl has to be the most interesting thing I've ever skated, it's a park unto itself. The locals are amongst the finest around both as skaters and as people. I saw some first class riding while there. Everybody was friendly and there was no teasing the lesser skilled. The park's one tiny flaw is the wood chips from the surrounding landscape find their way into the skatepark and leaves and trash get trapped in the full pipe. Even if you live in New Zealand you must visit this park at least once...
Read moreThis is an amazing park 3 great bowls nice street section. Good environment. But it gets packed which is fine, the problem is when parents bring there kids here that have no idea what there doing (I'm all for kids learning to bike skate scooter that's awesome)but they often get in the way and it could be dangerous. And a kid could get hurt it's not a playground and people are flying around and sometimes cannot dodge a little kid comming out of nowhere. I have no problem with kids just teach them to be more aware of there surroundings and not sit down on obstacles in the park and pay more attention to people! Just a little skatepark etiquette...
Read moreSo I spoke to Danielle of Parks and Recreation for Linda Vista and she told me as of December 20, 2017 Linda Vista is closed. They’re reopening will happen sometime in January or February and anyone who is skating there now it’s trespassing she said. This is just an FYI for everyone. She cannot change the Google hours since it’s controlled by San Diego County.(it’s not that hard Google manager for SD to change the hours) So any moms wanting to drive their kids out to Linda Vista should wait until further notice. She also said to check out San Diego parks and recreation.gov to look at the latest on the skate...
