Majestic Pools & Spas — Attraction in San Diego

Do not hire this company if you're looking for a responsive company that will actually complete the job. An absolute waste of our time. My wife and I were interested in putting a small cocktail style pool in our back yard. We met with BAXTER on 13 July. At that time he took measurements, looked at points of entry, surveyed what the work would entail, and took lots of pictures. On this FIRST day he told us it would have to be a hand-dig job because there was no way to bring the machinery into the area of the yard that it needed to be in. In addition to the pool, we also requested a quote for moving our above ground jacuzzi, to another level of the backyard, hand digging an area for that, moving a retaining wall and pouring a concrete slab to make it in ground. We should have known from the beginning that working with BAXTER would be a joke, as he didn't even bother to follow-up with us within a few days as he said he would. We thought, hey, COVID has pool companies busy we'll give him the benefit of the doubt. We called him and we set another date for him to come back out to go over the proposal for both the pool and the jacuzzi. On 21 July BAXTER came back with a 4 page proposal for the pool and a handwritten estimate for the jacuzzi move. He indicated the proposal for the pool was an estimate and their landscaping guy would need to come out and take a look in order to know the exact cost of the hand dig. UMM shouldn't he have done this between July 13-21 BEFORE the proposal was written? Or priced it based on the photos taken? But fine. We said okay and BAXTER said he would let us know when the landscape guy could come out the falling week. The rest of the week goes by and ZERO word from BAXTER. We reach out to him on 28 July and he says they'll know the landscapers schedule that night and he'd get back to us. CRICKETS AGAIN. We reach back out and he says actually the landscaper can just give him a price based on the photos he took the first day and we'd have a proposal Thursday. On Thursday, NOTHING. We reached back out and he said he was still waiting to hear from the landscaper and we'd have it Sunday evening. I'm sure by now you can guess - Sunday evening - NOTHING. On Monday we messaged BAXTER and asked, is this proposal coming or not because we will get other quotes and stop wasting our time with you and this company. We were told we'd have it no later than that night. We sent him our email address to make sure he had it. He gave us a thumbs up. And then we waited. And SHOCKER, MORE NOTHING. This morning we get an apology email indicating that he spoke to the owner and landscaper and they're too busy to take the job. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL (enter lots of epithets)?!?!?? Literally nothing about our project changed from July 13 until this email today. Completely and utterly strung along by BAXTER. Did he do absolutely nothing until yesterday? All this time and he didn't know that they were too busy to do a hand-dig? We have another pool quote and will be happy to go with a company that doesn't string us along - even if the pricing is slightly higher. You get what you pay for, and I'd rather give my business to a company that will actually follow-through on dates they indicated. IF you want to take a gamble that this company will actually take you on as a client, GOOD LUCK. I hope you don't waste 3 weeks like we did. If you're assigned BAXTER, and he doesn't call you back following your first meeting, I'd recommend moving on and saving yourself your time! I would never work with BAXTER again and will tell all of my friends and family members in the area the same thing and ask that they pass along the...

Probably many of people who will read this review they most likely are going through what we went through. It’s scary these days to hire companies especially for such huge project and expensive one too!! I’ve looked up many companies, red many reviews, asked around had consultations and weren’t convinced. Finally, One day one of my clients told me she got her pool done by “Majestic pools and spas” and she highly recommended them!! I immediately reached out and set up a consultation appointment with Riley who goes by Ski. WOW, Riley was AMAZING he came prepped, his consultation was super informative, he listened to what I wanted, all the details, he laid out the pros and cons, was so up front and honest. Other people when they came to the consultation were super short, quick and some didn’t even want to come they would just give a quote over the phone. I know shocking!! Yeah, Riley killed it honestly. I was sold, then we moved forward and he created a design for us and had a zoom meeting went over everything AGAIN!!

Company overall EXCEEDED OUR EXPECTATIONS! They finished our pool in 7 weeks. Everything was said in the consultation and first meeting with our project manager Pat happened. Communication throughout the entire project, our backyard was never on pause, work was weekly done, fast, professional and efficient. They also clean after themselves. Throughout the project we wanted to add few little things, we communicated to our project manager Pat and his assistant Robin, they will just make it happen no problem and no push backs. We had many questions, both Pat and Robin were always super responsive and never had any push backs.

James gave lots of information during jets and start up install too. Super helpful!

This is our second pool build, and know how important trust is between contractor and customer. Majestic was recommended by a friend and after being ghosted by another pool builder, and a couple of other good quotes, it came down to trust and quality. Ski did an outstanding job listening to our wants and desires and came up with a design that we really liked (our HOA has never seen a better description and graphics than ours.)

We faced several delays due to heavy rains, granite shelf in our yard, and finally the COVID pandemic. The build came to a grinding halt when we found a huge blue granite shelf in our yard. The owner, Rob, came ower and provided a couple of options (none of which he was charging his overhead for.) In the end, it made sense for us to turn our pool 90 degrees but retain the original design.

We had a fantastic project manager in John. He communicated every step of the way and has always been very responsive when we had questions. It is like both Ski and John have become part of our family. John's ability to work with us and the various teams made the build far easier than it otherwise would have been. John is a great guy and easy to work with. When small issues presented themselves, John would always fix them immediately.
