I've been coming to this place for a while. Generally, I am pleased with the work and like many of the women there! However, I made an appointment for today for a fill and a pedicure. When the new guy was working on my nails, he told me my acrylic was old. He lifted it and put new acrylic on my nail. When he was finishing up with the gel polish, he told me that he would not charge me for "removing the old acrylic." I get to the register and they charge me $42 for my nails. A fill is $35. So I ask if they increased their prices. I was first told I was charged for a full set. Then I said, I didn't ask for a full set and the employees shouldn't just do things without first consulting the customer. Then the lady at the front spoke to the guy - he said it was the fill plus "repair" - and it just so happened to be the same price as a full set. So LIFTING the old acrylic from my nail is now $7. Whether you put the acrylic on my old acrylic that's been filed down, or on my natural nail shouldn't be an upcharge of $7.00. I'll probably return but only ask for one of the ladies. BEWARE OF THEM PERFORMING SOMETHING YOU...
Read moreThe people working there were nice, and because they only accept cash tips, they had a convenient ATM inside that didn't charge a fee. The place was clean, and they sat me down right away, but I wasn't pleased with their lack of communication. I specially asked for acrylic and as she was working on my nails she said it would be $42. I thought to myself "That is a lot just for a full set" but they didn't have pricing posted anywhere so I just assumed it was an expensive place. To my surprise the nail technician because getting out equipment for a gel manicure and I stopped her and said "No I just want an acrylic set" and she responded with "But this lasts longer"... Yes, I know but that's not what I asked for, which led me to believe that she was trying to trick me into paying more. overall, I'm not terribly satisfied with the job they did. May try to give them another shot with a simple manicure if I don't find another place to go to, but...
Read moreIâve been going to this nail salon for years because itâs close and convenient, and I never really had a reason to question anything, until recently. I got a full acrylic set there in early June, and when I went to a different licensed nail technician to have them removed, she told me the product used appeared to be MMA (methyl methacrylate). MMA is a strong, harmful substance thatâs banned or heavily restricted in many states due to the damage it can cause to nails and skin. The acrylics I received were extremely rigid, painful to remove, and wouldnât soak off in acetone, all signs of MMA use. I was never told what product would be used at the time of service. I understand how tempting it is to go somewhere out of habit or convenience, but please donât risk your health for that. Ask questions. Make sure your salon is using safe, legal products like EMA. Your natural nails and skin are...
