Great shopping! It is located between 32nd and 28th streets, and directly across Harbor Drive from Naval Station San Diego. IMPORTANT: "Access is restricted." You need to have proper ID to enter the area where the Navy Exchange buildings are located. You will be turned away by the sentry if you do not provide proper ID. The actual store consists of 2 buildings. Three if you are counting the pharmacy, food court, and package store that is joined to the main building but is accessible for customers via outside entrances. Clothes, makeup, jewelry, shoes, watches, and handbag accessories are located in the two story building. Furniture, electronics, outdoor equipment, sports equipment, home and garden items, household items, daily hygiene items, and food snack items are located in the long one story building next to the two story building. The store has just about everything the military family needs at great competitive prices. Numerous items with price match guarantee, and prices that are always tax free everyday with a 45 day return guarantee. Amazon can not even beat that;) Other stores located on-site include a MWR ITT Office, GNC, Things Remembered, Chungs Plaques, an Eyeglass store, Flower/Gift/Souvenir shop, Subway, Panda Express, Five Guys, KFC Express, Rubios, Cold Stone, Starbucks, Barber Shop, and Dry Cleaners. Outstanding customer service from Diana, Fe, Imelda, Rose at registers, to Katherine serving up a hot pizza at Pizza Hut and Archie keeping the food court clean and orderly makes the few trips I make each month to the Navy Exchange worthwhile. Where if you do have second thoughts about a purchase at the Home Furniture and Electronics store, Miriam at the customer service counter would be happy to assist you. Information and tickets to local and distant attractions can be provided by Digna and Sherlyn at the MWR at reduced prices. Whatever it is your shopping needs may require, there is a very good chance this Navy Echange location has what you need. A one stop shopping solution. Is that not...
Read moreFor the most part, Horrible Employees!!! This is very disgraceful to say this but if you are not Filipino, don't expect any customer service. Its the truth!!! The Filipinos that work here hire their friends and the Navy does not care of the low quality workers that are getting hired. Don't bother complaining to the manager because they are friends with each other. These idiots will place merchandise under the wrong sales tag. When you ask them to look it up, they give you an attitude. You show them their stocking mistake and the they including the garbage manager will say it is your fault for not checking the numbers on the barcode. Never in my Military Career have I experienced such horrible customer service. If you have a problem with them, call and e-mail every Military point of contact at the Exchange. The Filipinos look out for each other. It is the truth. I like how when you have a problem they talk crap about you in Tagalog (because they think non Filipinos don't know it?), laugh, giggle, and point with...
Read moreThe 32nd Street NEX is one of my favorite military stores. This particular store carries more varieties of things than most others. Plus it also brought the appliance building more convenient adjacent to the main store. Like most military stores, this grocery/commissary is also conveniently located close to the NEX whereby making shopping a single-trip process. Unfortunately though, like the near by military lodging facility, diversity remains scarce, at best. I don't feel that the promotion of diversity and equality can be accomplished if the majority of the employees are particularly a majority of a single ethicity/racial background. Besides the diversity hiccup, the savings that the store promote, including additional five dollars savings you get if you bought fuel from the gas station and spent a minimum of twenty-five dollars within 14 days of the fuel purchase, is well worth the visit...
