When using Google maps navigation arrows and 360° Photospheres, verify/confirm that the elementary school is completely secured, fenced-off, and separated from this Public City Park... Then Google search "Wegeforth Elementary School" and confirm Monday thru Friday, 8:00am - 2:20pm school sessions (6.5 hours/day for school)... From 3:00 pm thru 7:30 am the next morning, this is a 100% Public Access Park (18 hours/day), plus Saturday and Sunday 100% Public Access on both weekend days... As you can see, more of a Public Access Park, than a "Joint Use" school's limited use... Computed as follows for a one week time frame: School use is 5 days at 6.5 hours/day = 32.5 hours per week... then Public Access Use is 5 days at 18 hours/day = 90 hours, plus Saturday at 24 hours and Sunday at 24 hours, gives a total of 90 + 24 + 24 = 138 Hours Public Access vs. the 32.5 hours School Use... This confirms that this Park's location is 81% "Public Access" and only a very small fraction 19% School "Joint Use"... and even then, class is in session most of the day with "in-class" learning... this is not 6 hours straight recess play-time ... Based on the computations above, this location is a majority of the time a Public Community Park use, than a limited "Joint Use" ... none the less, it is an Awesome Place and one of the cleanest Public Park in San Diego... Five...
Read moreThis is a nice little neighborhood field. It's city run but on the elementary school grounds. It has a gated entry off the recreation center and another from the parking lot. It's basically a grassed athletic field with 3 backstops, room for soccer, a restroom(currently closed) picnic tables and a 1/3 mile d.g. track circumventing it. I use the track for my HIIT workouts. I'd have given it 5 stars if it weren't for it being closed during school hours (even during covid lockdown), as the kids use it for PE. I'd love to go there in...
Read moreThis is a City of San Diego - Public Park adjacent to an elementary, that is completely fenced-off at the secure perimeter border. I placed 360° Photospheres of the entire walking trail along the perimeter border fence line to confirm. The elementary has "Joint Use" of the Public Parks' facilities and amenities, including the Baseball & Soccer Fields, public restrooms, and picnic tables. A very nice and clean public park for use "after hours" in the afternoon/evenings and especially on the weekend... Highly Recommend Public...
