This is one of the busiest places in San Francisco and it’s no wonder why. The field is huge and multiple soccer games can go on at once. The track around the outside was blocked off when I was there probably to keep speeding bikes from running down eight year old soccer stars. The grass was long and the fields are actually terrible for good soccer but all of that can be overlooked since it’s such a beautiful area. For some weird reason, parking isn’t that bad but getting here is challenging especially with traffic along the side streets. Plan on an hour to get here from the East Bay. Outside Lands is also held here and that’s amazing too. A few years back I saw Sir Paul McCartney here and that was special. I doubt you’ll see Paul walking around on a random Saturday but you will find lots going on here. Stop by and see for yourself.

Really beautiful place for a soccer/lacrosse tournament. It’s complex but I really like it a lot. Generally they do NOT let parents on the field so bring blanket/chair for the hill or sit in old cement stands with wooden benches. If there all day, again blanket or cushion. Or stand at the fence. Binoculars good if you don’t want to move around and watch behind the fence as your team moves. Not great if you need the sideline experience. Parking is the worst part, Golden Gate Park is huge and gorgeous but it can be a long walk. Also be prepared to hoof it around the huge oval to view the specific field you want. Food or drink will depend upon event. Prepare for weather changing by the hour - sunny, cloudy, foggy, misty, hot and cold. Bring your tournament wagon!

Saw Dead & Company at this site. Sufficient Port-a-John’s all around the field. The venue did say only clear backpacks allowed and water bladders. However saw many non clear backpacks and other water containers such as hydro flasks. If they are going to list rules, I feel they should enforce them since I went out of my way to buy a clear backpack and only purchased water once there. The metal detectors were going off and security kept saying just go through, it keeps going off. Well that did not make me feel safe. We all have heard of horrible things happening at concerts. The food selections were great and the acoustics sounded fabulous. Just disappointed with safety measures and...
