I would like to point out that some of these trails are narrow and challenging. I found out that the more you go toward the top of the mountain, the trails start getting wider. I would recommend a good pair of hiking boots for this terrain. If you are with someone, you will need to go up single file on some of these trails. You will definitely get a good workout on this mountain.

Entrances to get on the trails are near Portola Avenue and further up on Dalewood way which has a wider entrance to it. If you have a couple of people in your group, I would suggest the Dalewood way entrance.

It is also dog friendly. I observed a quite of number of dogs and their owners on these trails. Most of the dogs were quite well behaved. I would say this along with McLaren Park to be great for dogs.

On top of Mount Davidson is the gem of it all. The vista point is beautiful. It has a great view of the city on clear days. You can see Sutro Tower, McLaren Park, Downtown San Francisco, and the bay. If you want to take a lot of scenic pictures this place is for you. There is a bench for anyone who wants to just relax and take in the view. You get your moneys worth with just the view. If you are professional photographer, this is one spot to get pictures from.

Lastly, there is the cross on top of the mountain. It is big, and sticks out above the trees, thus you can see it if you are not on the mountain. There is a couple of plaques that describe the cross and when it was built.

Mount Davidson is an excellent...

Well, if you plan to reach to the peak for the first time keep in mind 4 things! Take a camera. 2. See the battery charge of ur cellphone. 3. Bottle of water. 4. You need to have Adidas or Nike shoes. I have spent about 5 hours here! I took the bus, then I walked through the forest about 35 minutes to reach to the peak. I stayed till the sunset time. It had a crazy view as you can see the photos which I uploaded! Also, there was a very huge crucifix! Front of that I saw burn marks and I guess that was satanic rituals! While im going down from the peak to reach to the street I saw something like an animal skin, i guess it was 🐖 skin but not sure!! Sorry but really .... Satanic people Are Always Stupid!! They will turn out this great place to be the biggest restroom in the U.S. or maybe...

So I parked near a bus stop after picking up a free refrigerator listed on Craigslist because I had to go #1. There was a path going off into the woods and I originally was just going to use a tree to relieve myself but my dog 🐶 Doobie had other ideas and didn’t want to get back into the car so I decided to take him for a little hike and boy am I glad I did just a short walk up the path I saw a gigantic lower case “t” but that’s not why I was glad. The view of San Francisco is breathtaking you can see much more than from twin peaks in my opinion it’s amazing how big San Francisco really is and in such a small area definitely a must see, especially if you live here. Really puts things into perspective. I’ll add more pictures next time I go but here is one of downtown...

Mt Davidson is a scenic and quaint getaway from the buzzing streets of SF. Located close enough to Twin Peaks to almost offer the same views, it brings the advantage of being less crowded, so overall a good time. Reasons you should visit: 1. Dramatic panoramic views in every direction. On a clear day, you can see far the hills of the faraway south bay and diablo area. 2. Tree cover for most of the climb up to the summit, which is unique for an SF park. This is made even better on rainy and foggy days, as the park develops a mystic charm. 3. Surrounded by residential neighborhoods, so there's very little noise pollution from traffic and most foot traffic is friendly. Highly recommend adding to your SF bucket list if you haven't seen it already!

I set out to the highest peak to see the stunning city view as many reviews wrote, but I couldn’t at the first attempt. I parked my car on Juanita Way and hiked into Mount Davidson Hiking Path Entrance. Some fallen trees blocked the narrow trail and I had to climb over them to get through. The trail was surprising quiet and beautiful with blossoming white and pink wild berry flowers. Apparently not many people passing through. I turned back and drove up Dalewood Way to Mount Davidson Paved Path. Yes, this was the most popular and easiest trail to go up the peak.
