This NPS maritime interpretive exhibit has to be the most impressively curated little gem I've seen from the NPS. It's immersive with nearly every nook and cranny of the exhibit holding specific and well researched information. I usually find at least a few items that are misspelt or have incorrect information, but this was pretty faultless. I also enjoyed that all of the interactive pieces were working!
Completely wowed by the entire little space and the show stopper was that lighthouse light spinning in the middle! Amazing.
We didn't get to see everything because although small, it is packed full. A place to return to and maybe even get on the ships next time!

Read moreThe visitor center is across the street from the pier where the historical ships are docked. As of Spring 2025, that area is under renovation, but the visitor center is fully open. The displays and ship models are well done and informative. Anyone unfamiliar with the role San Francisco played in Western economic development and World War 2 would find this a fascinating place to visit.
