What an amazing time it was. I had never ridden a Segway before and to be honest, was a little nervous about it. The 2 guys who run the show were very personable, funny and made the entire experience better. The day started with some training. We learned how to go forward and backward, how to turn and how to hop on and off the Segway. Besides that we also learned how to make an emergency stop. Thankfully I didn't have to use this skill anytime during the tour. It took no more than 5 minutes for me to feel 100% comfortable on it. During the tour we make a couple of stops, which is a great opportunity to grab some hot chocolate and snaks. They'll suggest good places to grab food since they're locals and know the area well. If you're a history buff, your in for a treat. The tour guide, who goes in front of the group with a mic, knows well the historical places to stop. Again, it was a wonderful experience and we'll be looking for Segway rental places in our area so we can enjoy it again....
Read moreYesterday, while waking along Fisherman’s Wharf, maybe 50 yards from Ghirardelli Square, I stumbled upon a hidden gem next to a bicycle rental place, Umbrella Alley. This place is a gold-mine of beautiful San Franciscan themed murals, vibrant colors, and endless opportunities to take pictures. Amazingly, umbrella alley is FREE, but a $5.00 donation is suggested to help support their work. Another amazing thing is that no one on their staff is pushy or pressures folks for donations. It’s an act of good faith that I hope folks will do. They also offer jeep and Segway tours. This is definitely a place worth visiting and is good for groups, dates, or a night on the town. Definitely stop by if you’re ever...
Read moreA content creators dream - the "alley" is more of a half-alley leading into a parking lot of rental vehicles for tourists. But it's so well-done and FREE. It features a few local artists' really colorful artwork. And you have the option of donating directly to the artists if you feel so inclined.
If you're in the area, you can take some iconic photos while in the middle of iconic Fisherman's Wharf. It's right next to Buenavista Cafe so you can't miss it. But I wouldn't make the trip just to see it alone since it...
