Ocean Beach is San Francisco’s main beach and boy is it one of the colder and windier beaches that you’ll visit. One of the more common activities is the fire pits, which you’ll see burning most weekends. This is also a hub for surfing and for beach volleyball. I’d definitely recommend a wetsuit if you’re planning to get in the water, and a few blankets if you’re staying around for the sunset.

A great place to watch the breathtaking sunset while eating food and listening to music around a little bonfire with friends. Each photo you take here is practically guaranteed to be beautiful. No filters or Photoshop needed.

I love Ocean Beach so, so much. It's one of my all time favorite places in the Bay Area - and I've lived here for 4 years and have done many hikes, walks, camp outs, etc. Beautiful.

Ocean Beach is a flat expanse of sand next to the ocean. It is simple. There is ample parking, warning signs about riptides, but no lifeguard towers or lifeguards on duty.

When I came by, there were a few volleyball games going. The tide seemed to be low at the time. It was a bit windy and cold for the typical SoCal beach experience, but it is good for sunset watching. Some people improvised some fire pits. There were no concrete fire rings installed.

The normal for San Francisco beaches I am still...

My fiance and I ran here and the whole cement path smells like urine. It was dark and cold, windy, smelly, a bad memory for us. A lot could be done to fix the benches and clean up the path. There's hardly any restrooms so Porta potties or more...
