L.A. Massage & Skincare — Attraction in San Gabriel

This place is the best. Tina is the best masseuse I have EVER, but truly all of the masseuses here are amazing — I have never had a bad massage here! I come here weekly, the owner is very friendly and a hard worker - you will see her working open to close many days, she is committed and passionate about her business and customers.

Prices are extremely low and great! $30 for a 70 minute combination massage that includes a full body and foot massage! For the same price you can also chose their 60 minute hot stone massage which is great if you are having severe back/neck pains. There is also a $20/hour foot massage option, but $30 for 70 full body AND foot sounds like a better deal! All massages are done in private rooms with the exception of a foot massage which is done in shared areas of 2 (2 persons per section).

This spot is not really a “pamper spa day” type of massage business, you really want to come here when you have back/neck/arm/leg pains. Same goes for the facials offered, they are very effective (the owner does facials herself) but it’s not necessarily a super relaxing treatment. This placed is focused of the results, making sure that whatever pain you had when you came in is gone when you’re leaving. I have been to make massage places where the technique is very soft and relaxing BUT my back and neck still hurt after the massage. At the same time, to me it is still very relaxing and 9 out of 10 times I end up falling asleep during my massage, and wake up feeling so rejuvenated!

I’d like to leave some feedback regarding my experience today. I feel like I didn’t receive the same level of service that I’ve had here before. The massage therapist today didn’t seem to fully demonstrate her skills. Perhaps it was because it was getting late, but I noticed she missed some areas and often pressed on my bones, which was quite uncomfortable. During the hot stone massage, the stones were not left on my back as I had expected.

Additionally, when it came time to pay, I felt pressured into tipping, which was disappointing. The price seems to have increased from $40 to $50, and when I politely asked when the price change occurred, I didn’t receive a response. This left me feeling uncomfortable, and then being pressured for a tip made things worse. Overall, the experience was not what it used to be, and I’m considering not returning...

So I went here on my lunchbreak for a massage. I had an appointment but they made me wait a bit. The towel that they used to cover me up was damp, which made me think it was either just out of the wash or that it was dirty! The lady who massaged me answered her cell phone DURING my massage. Also, towards the end it felt like she just got lazy and was just rubbing my back gently, even though I asked for deep tissue. Then when I went to pay, the person at the desk tried to tell me the amount of tip to give, which was OVER $20. Suffice it to say, I gave her a 20% tip, despite the poor experience. :( Definitely...
