A time capsule from the 2010s Chinese cafe. Smoking and non-smoking, open late, open generous parking, old school coffee/tea prep in the dining area. Pros and cons associated with all that. Smokes spill inside from the patio, thick tea you could taste from just the air. Service during my late visit was good. The food was split. The acid test of a dry fried beef rice noodle was pretty good while the other prep made Hainan chicken was not so much. It was late so I didn't get any drinks and that was a good decision since soon I was swimming in smoke from the outside. If you could do order tea or something because the tap water should have its brand named because there was a distinct taste to it and it wasn't something I would purposely order. Parking lot is big and shared what appeared to be a member only pool hall. In the worst case park on San Gabriel. All the waiters are bilingual speak Chinese. This shop has steaks, fried rice, noodle soup, all the usual hallmarks of a Chinese cafe from the golden cafe era. The posters, signs, some areas could use a refresher. Prices $15 and up. Didn't see any lunch specials but I visited when most other shops were about to close. If you don't like smoke, pick a seat away from the front.

I went there with my wife and kid. Had a bad experience. My wife ordered hainam chicken normal way. I ordered white meat only and cream corn/chicken soup. I told her I cant do dark meat(doctors orders). She said she will talk to the cook. I looked at her again and td her I can't do dark meat. She says ok and walks away. They bring the food to the table and I received 80% dark meat. I told them I can't do dark meat. They left the food and walked away. There was blood all over my plate. The chicken inside the soup was also raw. Gross. I didn't eat anything. They came back to pick up plates. I didnt touch any of it. They said "you dont like?". I said look at the plate. What do you see wrong. They left the check. I paid and left. I remember years ago when I used to go there when it was owned by the der lady and man 10 years ago. Quality of food was so much better. Now it's trash. Terrible experience. I won't be coming back. Look at the pics for the raw hainam chicken and raw chicken I side the soup. Gross

One of the best Cantonese food restaurants in San Gabriel Valley. I just love everything they make here.

The foods are absolutely authentic Hong Kong style cuisine. The basic dishes like chow fen, fried rice and congees are right on in flavor and authenticity.

The Curry beef brisket is my favorite dish here. The beefs are tender and flavorful. The taste of the curry is just out of this world. I have not had any other restaurants in LA produce quite the same taste. I can eat two bowls of rice with the curry.

Another fantastic dish is the Hainan Chicken rice. This restaurant has done it the right way. The chicken meat is very smooth yet tender. Eating with the garlic rice, the Hainan chicken definitely increases your appetite. This reminds me of the times when I was in Singapore where Hainan chicken rice is a daily table. This Hainan Chicken can definitely hold its own in taste compared to the Hainan Chickens in Singapore.

The restaurant has changed ownership recently but the foods are...
