Extra Space Storage — Attraction in San Jacinto

This storage space wasn’t all bad, they do have great employees, always happy and willing to help. BUT, my mother in law and I both purchased a storage unit & on the outside of the building their signs say “ first month free when you pay insurance and taxes “ that’s it. Not that it has to be a specific storage or you have to get a certain rate, nothing like that. So my mother in law calls pretending to get a storage asking for the same storage type she already has and asks if it qualifies and if she can Receive her first months free & they say yes it’s available, she then goes on to state well I already have that storage and never received it, so they start to say “oh let me look” then come out with well you got the online rate this and that just a bunch of bull. So I tried asking as well and got the same response BUT we didn’t even book online I called in and in less than 15 min walked in to get my storage unit, & she only walked in to get hers. We didn’t choose the online rate they just gave it to us probably to be able to use the excuse so I don’t get the first month free. When you’re moving usually it’s tight with money and I know our moving journey has been really difficult so that first month free would’ve helped us out so much. in the end if it’s not what you offer then don’t have signs up stating that’s...

I am so happy having made the decision to store here over the phone their customer service is excellent and they give you the best prices in town and in person they are very courteous and they personally greet you and are very attentive in order to meet your needs . They give you your space and they are not breathing all over you..when I came to rent here after having a terrible experience with lockaway storage I had fear of how I would be treated here..they have been wonderful and welcoming Jessica the manager at the time was the best she worked very hard while maintaining contact with the tenants and she is bilingual which was a plus. Then there is Jose also a manager who always greets you with a smile and maintains the place clean and secure and if you need something immediately he is there. Now yesterday I met a new manager Damian who introduced himself and made me feel welcomed and that my positive experience there wouldn't change and of course he doesn't act like the new sheriff in town... So I rented with this storage for about a year. Would pay 3 months in advance. 4 months ago I fell on hard times. I talked to the manager and she was totally cool with it cause I never filed a claim on them for my storage getting wrecked from them re doing the asphalt. They called me last month and said my storage will be auctioned off. I told them I had to move to Texas and I’m just stuck can you hold off for a couple weeks. They said I had to pay the full amount Or they will auction it off. I said can you at least let my family come pick up my personal items that can never be replaced. They said no.. I couldn’t afford the storage. So they auctioned it off. But before they did that. They went into my storage and took what they wanted.. even tho the person that bought my storage paid the 200 I owed. They stole about 1000 worth of items.. I had collectible Budweiser glasses, collectible Stella glasses from 2007. Limited edition. I had lowering kits, lift kit, etc. how can they do this? Is this even legal? Well who cares.
