Commodore Park in San Jose is a truly serene and welcoming environment, perfect for anyone looking to enjoy some time outdoors. The park offers a variety of recreational activities and amenities, making it a great spot for individuals and families to relax and unwind. With its picturesque setting and well-maintained grounds, Commodore Park is a popular destination for those seeking a peaceful retreat right in the heart of the city. Whether you're interested in taking a leisurely stroll, having a picnic, or simply soaking in the natural beauty, this park provides a tranquil escape for everyone to appreciate. There is a large area of empty unmaintained land nearby with the mile long trail along the Berryessa Creek. The trail seemed unsafe because of over 30 homeless tents along the way with several stray dogs and cats.

Not enough parking space is the reason that I gave four stars for this park. It only have 12 parking spaces for this popular neighborhood park that parents taking their young children to play here on the playground stratuses which included slay, swing sets and some climbing! There even have a smaller set for even younger kids to play, which was even nicer. Few simple exercise equipment also for folks to Keep up on their daily work out! You can a see all generations here! There are picnic tables with wheelchair accessible throughout the park but no restroom though! There will be some ice-cream trucks stop by all the time that try to score some business with the kids that playing here.

Fun place even for babies. They have baby swings a toddler play structure, an older kid play structure as well as adult workout equipment. The park was relatively clean ,had nice trees and grassy area as well as tables and benches under the trees, I did not notice a bathroom but there is a homeless encampment nearby maybe you can ask to use theirs 😂 (jokes). The play structures had rubber padded surface that was nice for my crawling baby. There weren't too many shady people, just one teenager hanging out in the toddler area and one older guy. The rest of the people seemed like nice family's. I'll be going back, it was fun.

The outline of a great community resource is here - mixture of large spaces and shaded meandering creek bed with a calisthenics zone and a community garden. It lacks pride and community while a tacit acceptance of homeless camping, mentally ill ranting and a diversity of trash seem to be the attributes the locals prefer to represent themselves.

I've got a dog that loves to run. We accomplished this goal at 5:30am as the loyal group of early exercises began to arrive on the path that loops the park. I got my exercise as well having to keep up with the pooch and the plethora of diapers around the fields that I had to keep him from inspecting. It works in a pinch or it's your...
