Petroglyph Ceramic Lounge — Attraction in San Jose

Petroglyph is amazing! I've been there 2 times and they've all been amazing experiences. First time was with my friends, I made a cupcake box at that time. Second time was with my toddler of a cousin and my aunt, Susan. At that time, I had picked and ice cream bowl. I ended up mixing two kinds of yellows: Sun and Mellow. It made a slightly softer Sun color. Absolutely flawless. But I didn't like the price of it all. On my second visit, we got two mugs and an ice cream bowl. We sat there for two hours painting, trying to perfect our cups and bowls. At the end, it was $72.00. For sitting fee, painting fee, and only three items. We didn't even get the table we needed since my cousin was short. But then again, Petroglyph is a shop I definitely will be...

Update 12/30/24 - After my last review, I was invited back to Petroglyph and we went back last week. Despite being a busy weekend day, we had a much better experience. The staff was more supportive and helped during check-in and check-out. Our entire family had a very good experience. We will return again. We had a good first time at Petroglyph. My kids painted their ceramics (we are yet to pick up). The reason for 3 stars is that the staff did seem indifferent at best. There was a 30-second interaction with rapid-fire instructions at the start and a 60-second interaction at the end while check-out. We were otherwise left to figure things out by ourselves. A 1-time studio fee, and no rushing here. You can go back as many times as needed after you pay for your piece and your 1-time studio fee! The atmosphere is great! Wonderful people, and reasonable prices for the pieces they have.
