Four Car Garage — Attraction in San Mateo

I don't live in the area any longer and I used to take my vehicle to "Auto Medics" for many MANY years. They were amazing and sadly closed up shop and moved on. I will miss Chris & Robert.

I'm leaving a review for 4 car garage because of my recent phone conversation with Jennifer. I called the old Auto Medics number (not knowing they closed) and it rang over to 4 Car Garage. I was so confused at first but then found out they'd purchased the customer list and records from Auto Medics. Now hold on there before you start crying foul. They essentially purchased the business. This happens all the time. It just so happens they didn't acquire the physical location though. This is a very smart move because Auto Medics customers were EXTREMELY LOYAL - they knew they could trust the expertise and intentions of Auto Medics.

After spending some time talking with Jennifer about various things (for nearly 45 minutes!) it became very apparent that they are continuing in the exact same manner Auto Medics operated. The same helpful, honest, & knowledgeable professionalism. Sure wish they were like that...

I recently had the Four Car Garage perform a considerable amount of 'delayed maintenance' on my 20 year old Toyota Tacoma, and I can give them my hearty recommendation. They are a professionally run operation and they do good, quality work. They did a fantastic job on my truck and I'm very happy with both the results and the overall experience; it was not a cheap repair, but I feel I got what I paid for. The scope of the work was moderate, including replacing the timing belt, clutch, a leaky engine rear main seal, and also replacing a leaking rear differential gasket that required considerable disassembly to access. They were more than up to these tasks, and they provided me updates and kept me informed of their progress as they worked on the vehicle. The work was completed within the original time estimate, and I am very, very pleased with the truck following their work on it. It feels like it could run for another 225k miles. Working with Albert and Jennifer on two separate maintenance issues was so smooth and comfortable. I oddly have this mindset that every mechanic is out to "get you" and make you pay up for unnecessary maintenance, so I'm a little cautious whenever I bring my car in to a shop. Albert and Jennifer were extremely professional, laid out the facts of my maintenance issues, and presented detailed quotes in a manner that was not pushy and felt extremely honest and transparent. Not only did they provide this information in a comfortable manner, but their shop performed the work quickly and at the slightest hint of a delay they were quick to offer a loaner vehicle which was so appreciated, not necessary in my case, but their willingness to offer was unlike any other mechanic I've worked with.
