De Guzman Food — Attraction in Sanford

issue 1: this establishment does not honor their published time schedule. So you must call to make sure they are open. issue 2, dish one: We went there on Thursday, Aug 28 at 4pm and ordered for take out "sinigang", "dinuguan" & "caldereta". When we got home and tried the sinigang, it was soooo sour, inedible. The cook must have poured double the recommended sinigang mix. We had to add 2 cups of water and reboil the dish and throw out the soup so we could at least eat some of the pork and veggies. issue 3, dish 2: the dinuguan also was very sour like the cook also used double dose of sinigang mix instead of a little vinegar and they used serrano peppers which made the dish too spicy hot. issue 4, dish 3: beef caldereta: it tasted just right but after a few hours of eating it, I had LBM. I do not want to make any accusation of food poisoning but suffice to say I had diarrhea a few hours after eating the dish. My advice: ask to have a taste of each dish you want to order. So, this place advertises that they open at noon, and they even posted their daily hot food menu on Instagram at like 10am, yet when I show up a lil after noon, I’m told that they don’t start putting out their hot food until sometime between 1:30-2pm. If you don’t plan on having your food ready when you open, then you need to specify that somewhere, otherwise everyone who comes in for food before 1:30-2pm is going to be sad.

I had a disappointing experience with De Guzman Food that I feel compelled to share. I called on Sunday to confirm their hours, as I had a 45-minute drive ahead of me. I was assured they would be open on Tuesday at noon.

However, when I arrived at 12:45, the restaurant was still closed, despite having four other customers waiting outside. It was incredibly frustrating to see that they couldn’t even stick to their stated hours. It makes me wonder if they really care about their customers or if they just don’t need the business.
