I like this place for the variety of fruits and vegetables, but had a bad experience with their meat. Pork that was rancid, bought on the 15th, with a sell by of the 19th, but rancid when I opened it on the 17th. I should have known as I spoke to the girl when I was checking out and told her that one of the freezers with seafood had bags that were defrosted and dripping unpleasant smelling liquid on the rest of the bags ( which appeared to have defrosted and refrozen) They would not give me a refund as I did not have my receipt. I bought $38+ of items, and discarded the receipt while unpacking the bags. It never occurred to me that I would have to return something. I offered to show them my dated credit card receipt, but they would not take it. The meat was in the original, labelled packaging, with their name on it. I must say I was surprised at their reaction, quizzing me about refrigeration - of course it was refrigerated - then telling me that their store policy is that if meat is not used the day it is bought, then it should be frozen. Guess that says something about the quality. Maybe they should do this themselves, considering that the SELL by date, not even best before date is tomorrow, and it was already rancid two days ago. They finally gave me a store credit, which I will use for produce or non perishable goods only. Shame, I really...
Read moreI went in today to buy some meat because they usually have amazing prices for the quantity. I was shopping around and kept smelling a foul odor even through my mask. I continued to shop because I thought maybe it was the guy cleaning the floors using old water or a mop. I paid for my groceries and got out side and still smelling a foul odor. When I got to the car where my boyfriend waited for me and asked him to smell the meat I had bought and he said oh no babe take that back it smells terrible! I took it back and explained to the cashier that this was old meat and smelled terrible and to please give me a refund. She took the bag and went in the back of the store. She returned with with another employee and told me that the meat was not bad. I told her to please smell it because it definitely wasnât any good. She took the bag and went and got what I assumed was the manager. The manager told me that the meat was fine and I could only get a store credit and jo refunds are allowed. I kept trying to explain that I just want to return the items I had bought not even 5 minutes ago. The manager was very rude and finally agreed as she insulted me by saying fine because I know exactly what you will do. You will go call your bank and dispute it. Honestly I never thought of that. I will NEVER return to that...
Read moreWell, although prices and variety are good, returning an item is worthless when their remarks question you if you purchased it there. They said over and over " que raro" making you feel you are lying. I just went back to let them know that i bought a six pack of malta that I bought July 8 and had put in the fridge, not realizing that two cans were empty and the bottom where stained with roach poop. I told them that my concerns was that it came like that from their vendor, as the store is pretty new and clean. Although very respectful I still felt that they were treating me as a lier. What would I spend my precious time for $2.50? I didn't want any replacement, and although I didn't ask, they could have offered me a credit I didn't have my receipt and when I showed the transaction on my bank statement, they said " it shows you bought something here but not what you bought, again I'm a lyer . If you go to Publix to claim one bad mandarin, they give you the full bag, without question. I'm not saying that is what they need to do, but not to trust a client that brought evidence is not customer service. Sad, as it is so convenient to my home, but I guess I will be going...
