It's a pier. If it's not your sort of thing then move on. As far as piers go, this one is pretty good.

It is a good spot to grab something to eat as there are several restaurants. There are a few little shops that offer typical tourist kind of things. Tshirts, mugs, Santa Barbara branded things. There is also a candy shop and ice cream shop. Also a public bathroom. It is kid and elderly friendly but just keep in mind the wood planks can be a tripping hazard.

You can drive down on it and park (I think there is a fee) or you can walk out for free. There are a handful of motorcycle spots. There are a few different places to sit along the way and at the end. The views are excellent. Fun to watch the boats come in and out of the marina. You can also fish off the end if that is your thing.

Very easily accessible and such beautiful views! We were able to walk here multiple times during our visit to Santa Barbara from our hotel nearby. We enjoyed a sunrise and sunsets! Unfortunately, the day we went to watch the sunrise early in the morning with the only cloudy day we visited but we still got some cold views and photos of the very gray and slowly lit sky. Parking is free initially if you are driving, double check timing but I believe it was 3 hours! You can fish off of the end of the wharf and there's plenty of space for pedestrians to walk as well as a separate area for cars to drive.
