Okay we really like this place. I mean really like this place. But it needs a couple of things done to make it even better than it already is. It is an old style motel hotel feeling and building. The climate of Santa Barbara is probably one of my favorites in California. Their resort grounds add to it with slight humidity perfect temperature and lush green grass and flowers. The rooms are pretty standard. But they are spacious. They have two pools and they light fire pits at night to add to the ambience. They have some great wines and fun treats in the lobby area. While the front desk was quick to help, the problem solving was a little on the lean side. I had a window locking issue where the lock broke. They promised they would get to me the next day they didn't I called again they still didn't send anybody out They finally sent somebody out on the day I was leaving. So I decided to stay an extra two nights because we really liked it there so much to do around the area. They even have bikes to ride on the beach. The kicker was the giant spider that was at my headboard and lamp area. I went to the front desk and I said... please help me get somebody to get the spider or I cannot stay in that room. It took a while to get somebody up there and when that somebody got up there they decide to fix the window first and forego finding the spider. He also brought a gallon of poison to spray in the room. After all that I just told the front desk, I'll just leave today since I was going to anyways. Back to trying to locate that spider as I was packing, when I realized how big the gaps were in the door and realized that's how the spiders get in! I mean we're not talking a little gap, we're talking a large one. But if they fix these silly little things this place would be so amazing! Oh and my desk phone would only work on speaker-- the headset was broken. Also my cold water handle in the bathroom was broken. It's those little things that add up, but it's the ambience of the place that's amazing!

When I reserved the room I wasn't told that there is on street parking available. It is free but time limited between 9am and 6pm. It does fill up quickly in the evenings. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We both felt the bed was too hard for us to sleep well. The pillows are also stiff and too high for me. In our room there was a glass top on the desk that easily slid around. No seating area as the King room is quite small. Ocean view is nice but I don't think it is worth the additional cost. The AC unit switched to heat mode when the air temperature went below the set temperature. The vanity has a large weird drawer with an space in the middle (when you open it) to access the cabinet, with very little usable drawer space. Also, the vanity top has very limited space. I had to bring the luggage caddy in to set up a place to put my minimal makeup items. The bathroom lighting is terrible for shaving or applying makeup. They have hairdryers, Ironing board (not sure about iron) and 2 robes in the room. There is only 1 washcloth in the room. Lots of items available in the mini bar, but no fridge to store your own items. There's a small freestanding wardrobe closet for hanging items, with a safe at the bottom. I'm sure the price reflects the proximity to the beach and Stearns Wharf. It's not a bad place but, for me it wasn't worth the price.

The Good: Great location, great views. Love the fire pits outside on the patios. Positive front desk experience. Engaging staff. Directly across the street from West Beach and two volleyball courts. A short walk to Jeanine’s “at the Shore” location. Jeanine’s is fantastic for breakfast and lunch. A shorter walk in the opposite direction to Chad’s, formerly Sambo’s, for breakfast and lunch. A slightly longer walk to the Harbor for lunch at Brophy Brothers overlooking yachts and cruisers in the Harbor. Within walking distance of the Amtrak Station and the lower State Street McConnells ice cream location. Practically speaking, Hotel Milo is about $9.00 Lyft ride to the Arlington Theater. The Bad: We stayed 7 nights. Housekeeping didn’t follow the room entry guidelines as they were explained to us at check in. One night after a long day, we returned to the room and found no bath towels, hand towels, face cloths, paper and plastic cups. Our hotel supplied bathrobe magically disappeared one day as well. We didn’t know what we’d find when we returned to our room after a day and evening out. The Ugly: The hotel room walls are thinner than you could imagine. Good luck having a private conversation inside your hotel room. We emailed the GM after our stay to let him know what happened during our stay. We didn’t hear back. That speaks volumes. Enjoy the photos.

The staff at the hotel were exceptional – they were friendly, helpful, and truly made an effort to ensure guests felt welcome. Additionally, the hotel’s location is a major plus, conveniently situated and easily accessible. However, I encountered some disappointments with the room. The room I booked online showed a computer desk and a clean, well-furnished space. Upon arrival, I was surprised to find a much more basic setup, consisting only of a bed and an exceptionally small shower. When I brought this up with the front desk, I was informed that the hotel is in the process of remodeling and not all rooms include the amenities as advertised online. As someone who travels for work, a desk is an essential feature for me, and its absence impacted my stay. Moreover, the cleanliness of the room was not up to standard. I found a dried blood stain on the bed sheet and noticed that the area behind the TV was not well-maintained. Considering that the hotel appeared to be more than half empty and that there were newly renovated rooms available on my floor, it would have been appreciated if one of these updated rooms had been offered as an alternative. In summary, while the hotel benefits from an excellent staff and a great location, the discrepancies between the booking description and the actual room, coupled with cleanliness issues, were disappointing.

Small rooms but a great view to the beach. Thin walls so you will hear your neighbours and their bathroom fans. A small but nice gym. Pool and hot jacuzzi. Recommended!
