Stabiles Boutique — Attraction in Santa Barbara

The owner of the store removed my review from Yelp so I'm posting my review on Google.

Here's what i wrote on yelp: I had a incident with the owner of Stabiles. I purchased a necklace in the mobile store then subsequently visited the HQ store a few hours later where I saw the same necklace priced for $10 less. When I asked for a price adjustment, the owner came back and told me he misprinted the piece and that the price I paid was correct. He told me he would give me $5 back or could do the return. In this situation, I really felt like he should have honored the price listed. When I told him, I was going to write a review about our exchange and the fact he wasn't going to give me a proper price adjustment, he then changed his game and offered to pay me the entire price for the piece. I took great offense in this and felt like he should have just done the right thing and honor the $10...in my eyes, it wasn't the money, it's the principle. Shop someplace else if you want to support someone with honorable principles.

I think the fact he removed my review tells a lot about the kind of person he is. He's more concerned with 5 star reviews than running a business in an ethical manner. I also will add one additional point of clarification that after I told him I was going to post a review on Yelp, he first threatened to return my product without my consent and take the product back before he threw out the often of paying for the entire piece. Samuel, the owner is wonderful. He helped resolve a minor issue in regards to a couple beanies i purchased. His staff is polite and helpful. I visit this store every year with my family when we go to Santa Barbara. The hoodies don’t shrink, they are warm and a great quality. The store is cool and it’s a welcoming vibe. It smells good inside and they have tons of cool Santa Barbara hoodies with vibrant colors that my kids loved too. This store left a lasting impression. The interior was beautiful, the customer service was excellent, and they offered high-quality products. Overall, it's a great store worth...

After my experience and after reviewing other comments here, I have to assume their friends are the ones writing the 5-star reviews. Oppressive shopping experience where we were treated like potential vandals or thieves during our visit. Had some unique things, but also had plenty of overpriced miscellanea on display. Supporting local is one thing, but being taken is another. Also seemed a bit inconsiderate to blast (terrible) music out onto the street... Could hear it down the block after we left.
