As I was about to ride the tube plunge slide ANAJE, the safety guard said the glasses weren't allowed. But the guard downstairs said that I would be able to deposit my glasses so that I could retreat it later, and I was planning on repeat rides. He said he doesn't know, so I lose my place at the front of the line and go all the way downstairs to put my glasses and get in line from the very start. Then, when it was almost my turn, a bunch of kids at my front called out their friend's name loudly, and at least 4 of them cut in line in front of me. I notified ANAJE that the kids have skipped the line. He again says he doesn't know if it's against the policy. He asks another lady beside him, shrugged, and says she doesn't know. I wish I could see her name, but she had flipped her name tag. The kids that cut in front of me apologize and go back to their place in line and I said to them "These kids are more responsible than these adults who are not doing the job they are paid to do." I checked CGA's code of conduct, and skipping line is indeed, 'Line Breaking-place holding in line' is not permitted. This is common sense what the hell is wrong with CGA's safety guards???! I have no personal feelings against ANAJE other than that he has failed to do his job. But I also think upper management is at fault here as they didn't educate and guide the workers here whom, in this case, lacked common sense and were...
Read moreI was not impressed at all. We happened to go on Memorial Day and they really should've stopped allowing people in. It became too crowded for all the little kids that I felt like it became dangerous. There was several lost children on this day, that we saw asking for help from staff. Boomerang bay doesnt has a lot of waterslides. I didnt feel it had much seating around the bay for the amount of people that were there. People were sitting on their blankets in the mud, on the grass, all over the walkways, and in the plants. They had to close the wave pool because it was sooo busy with people and the lifeguards couldn't effectively, safely watch anyone!!
The rest of the park wasn't badly overran, just the waterpark area. Great America really needs to look at how it allows people into both areas. This is the first time we've been there and since we have family that goes it was an opportunity for us to get the Gold Passes. The rest of this season will be interesting because so far our family of 4 prefers Magic Mountain and their waterpark which has a ton of waterslides and different pools to play in and lots of seating. Since it's a seperate at the park than they turn people away if it gets too busy for safety of all their visitors,...
Read moreSouth Bay Shores is one not to be missed summer fun destination. The water park at the California Great America has multiple slides, boating like experience at the rushing river where you can lie down on a big inflatable tube, the tide pool offering experience of the ocean waves, sprinkles and bucket splash for kiddies to do some rain dance. The height of the slides varies for all ages. Though some of the big ones were closed when we visited.
The South Bay shores is open only until Sep 4 2023. The park opens intermittently on weekends. Do check the calendar if you plan to go. Saturdays are usually the best days when the CGA is open until 10 while the waterpark closes at 6. So you can combine it with some other activities after that.
The waterpark has plenty of changing rooms. It has a shop in case you forgot to carry any of your swimwear and locker facility for those wanting to secure their items before hitting the water. Waterproof lanyard with touch is highly recommended to capture some memories and keep your phone safe during the activities. Life jackets are available for all ages. Gold America Seasons pass members enter free. This waterpark is comparable or may be bigger than the one at Legoland....
