This is probably the best ride at Great America. The wait is actually not too long. We went on Labor Day weekend and it was only 30 minutes wait.
The wait area is actually pretty cool. Lots of decorations, props, and pictures showing the carrier and the flight deck. This used to be Top Gun so it was kind of interesting coming back to the ride as a different ride.
The ride itself was great and one of the smoothest ride in California. The drop is so good that makes you think you left your shoes behind. The rest of the ride was even better with the twists and turns that will leave you wanting more. It ended very quickly though. I would give this the same thrill level as Medusa at the...
Read moreIt's really fun and really intense because the loop pulls a lot of gs and when you think the gs are over it throws you into a turn and by then I can't see anything. My favorite part is the zero g roll (twist) over the entrance because you go flying, but it's aggressive and you get thrown to the side and up pretty hard so it was jarring when I was just starting to get into roller coasters. I also like flying fast over the line. This is way better than Gold Striker it needs to be talks about more especially in its short time left. Get out and ride it,...
Read moreGreat inverted coaster! Although this is a shorter ride, the forces on this thing more than make up for it. It is definitely in the top 2 most intense rides in CGA. The vertical loop and following turnaround have very sustained positive g-forces and you will gray out. The zero g roll is very solid whip. The corkscrew has amazing whip and there are more sustained positives on the helix over the lake. This is a must...
