The Ace Hardware Store at the corner of Soquel and Seabright in Santa Cruz, California is a real gem of a store.
It has an old school feel that you just don’t get at a big box store.
It’s efficiently managed and you can tell the associates are knowledgeable and seem to enjoy helping the customers…..a lot!
Once you enter, you are greeted and asked if there is anything that they can help you with. This AWAYS happens and they often send an associate to the area that you were directed to.
As you might imagine, it’s my go to store for most hardware needs and being local and close by, it saves tons of time and keeps me off the highly congested freeways!

Read moreI want to compliment Sarah (Manager) for the above and beyond service she provided me. I was asking for a receipt for tools I purchased in 2021 as I had a problem with an EGO battery but didn't have my receipt. Sarah spent a lot of time and effort looking up my transaction which was actually from another Santa Cruz store. She was extremely helpful, finally getting me to the Corporate customer care center to pursue it further. Once there I spoke with Donna S who again gave her all trying to help me get a receipt. She even called to the store I purchased from and worked with a gentleman there (Adam I think). Unfortunately, given the years past they weren't able to provide the receipt but Donna S sent me a transaction report that showed the purchase. All in all it was a very good experience which I very much appreciated. My thanks to all...
Read moreExtremely disrespectful old man at the front door. He instantly started talking to me like I was a criminal. I just got off my motorcycle and came in. Had my bag on. He refused to let me have the bag that was full of my medical equipment. Rudest experience. This is protected under ADA. You should check your employees. Women don't have to leave their purse up front. Why is my equipment any different. I will be filing a complaint through the Ada law. When I tried to educate the old employee that doesn't understand obviously how disability are protected now days. I can push a big issue. Il never shop here again. My sister was on the phone and heard how he was treating me. What he should have said something like we have a policy and it says no bags except ones with medical...
