I purchased a washer & dryer from Builder's Source in Santa Fe. We run on propane at our home, so I also had to pay for an additional conversion kit for the dryer. Was later told Dalton Service was to complete this conversion before Builder Source installed. The conversion did not happen. As a result, numerous sheet sets, blankets, and articles of clothing were destroyed and melted. Further, this is a major safety concern. Large flames were bursting into the barrel of the dryer. Major fire hazard, and we are very lucky damages were limited to personal affects.
Our first stop was to call Builders Source, as they were the dealer and installer. They passed me off to a warranty service center. After waiting 2 weeks for a tech, the technician determined the necessary conversion kit was never installed. He was shocked, and told us we were lucky we did not have a full blown house fire.
Called salesperson at Builders Source. He express little to no care about the situation, and told me they farm out the conversion to Dalton Service before it was supposed to be installed. Ultimately, he passed the buck. He told me someone from Dalton would call me within 24 hours to get a resolve. No call.
I reached back out to Builders Source and tell them I will hold them accountable until I get a real resolve. Builder Source Manager emails me, says he has reached out to Dalton.
Get a phone call from a Dalton underling. Asked for a list of items that were destroyed. Expressed no apology, concern, or accountability. I send list and links. No response. Email several more times. Builders Source manager emails and assures me they are on it. No response from Dalton... ever. That was 15 days ago. No responses from anyone. All in all, we are 5 weeks in with no accountability or resolve.
Lets be clear... this was gross negligence. We are lucky we did not have a full-blown house fire. Time wasted, personal items destroyed. Neither the management staff of Builders Source or Dalton took any accountability. No expression of concern of the gravity of what could have happened. Just a bunch of passing bucks. They did not do what they said they would do. There appears to be no integrity or honesty at the senior levels of...
Read moreRecently (Feb. 2024) my wife and I purchased a new LG washing machine and dryer from Builders Source Appliances in Santa Fe, NM. During the initial delivery and installation Iâll just say it could have gone a lot better. This being said, the installation was not your typical cut and dry install job due to a very tight-to-zero clearance dryer vent situation. One of the reason I buy my installed appliancesâ from Builder Source is because I can trust them to step-up and do whatâs right for their customers. Following the initial install I met with Julian (the salesman) and Erick (the store manager) they went right to work on finding a solution and provided two of their custom installers, Daniel and Anthony, to properly reinstall the appliances. How great it was that the installation crew showed up on time and had all the materials they need to complete the job so proficiently. These guys were friendly, courteous, knowledgeable and true professionals. I look forward to them installing my next appliance. Letâs face it, you can buy appliances anywhere, but what counts most is having them properly installed and knowing that a company like Builders Source Appliances and their professional staff will be there for you when stuff happens and things donât go as planned. Save yourself a headache ⊠shop Builders Source Appliance in Santa Fe, NM. Dan...
Read moreTerrible experience with these folks. There was an initial 6wk wait for service. The first guy said he fixed the main problem but the sound in the fridge came back immediately. The next guy came out and made a bunch of repairs but didnât touch the main issue. He came out 3x in the same day to fix his own errors on those repairs. The next day, I called and got the run around from different staff in the service department. They were all combative and the last one very condescending. Here is where we are months after my initial call - same issue with the bum fridge they sold the builder of my property. The fridge is obscenely loud. And theyâre finally going to ask the manufacturer what to do. But the service gal essentially advised me theyâve done all they can and the manufacturer isnât usually very helpful with this kind of problem. It is very likely I will be buying a new fridge, out of my own pocket, even though this one is just a few months old and still under warranty. I would never recommend purchasing from this company. They just want to keep sending service people out to look at my unit like thatâs a...
