🌁A first time guide to The Bay 🌁 ⠀ ⠀ After years of living (part time) in SF it was really fun to partner with @getyourguide to play tourist for a day. I booked a private tour of Muir Woods but quickly realized that I was able to not only visit Muir Woods (which requires permits) but also was able to curate a day filled with all of my favourite things and did not have to worry about parking. If you are planning a trip to SF - you will want to save this post as it is exactly what I, as a (self-proclaimed) local, would do if I had only one day in SF. ⠀ ⠀ ↟ Start with coffee - The Coffee Movement and Verve are my current favourites ↟ Head across the bridge and drive up to Hawk Hill or Battery Spencer (or a short hike to Slacker’s Hill will help you avoid crowds) for some of the best sunrise views. Stop at the lighthouse on your way out. ↟ Visit Muir Woods ↟ Drive along the coast and stop by the beach Slide Ranch and Stinson Beach are great options. ↟ Drive up to the summit of Mount Tam. ↟ Head back to the city in time for sunset at the beach - Marshall’s, Baker or Ocean are some of my favourites. ⠀ ⠀ You can also click the link in my bio for this private tour as well as a handful of SF based #getyourguide tours to check out! ⠀ ⠀ 📍San Francisco California, USA ⠀ ⠀ #ad #makeitunforgettable #SF #sanfrancisco #california #sheexplores #outdoorsygirls #lifeofadventure #earthpix #beautifuldestinations #reels

HIDDEN GEM for the best views of not only the golden gate bridge but also some gorgeous sunsets. Take a drive on the days when sun is shining bright and you won't be disappointed. My favorite part is starting the evening seeing the golden gate and as the sun starts to set, go to the back side to see the beautiful colors that the sky puts up. Truly mesmerizing! There's also a little hike trail if you want to spend longer. This area gets pretty windy in the evenings (oh hello, SF!). Place often gets crowded in the evenings but there's ample space to be socially distant while taking in the views!

Hawk Hill is a prominent hill in the Marin Headlands near San Francisco, known for its panoramic views of the Golden Gate Bridge and the Bay Area. It's a popular spot for birdwatching as well. If you are visiting the Golden Gate Bridge then you must visit Hawk Hill for a marvelous view of the Bridge with San Francisco city in the background. It’s super windy here, be prepared with enough gears. It’s one of the BEST viewing SPOT for golden gate!!

Hawk Hill in San Francisco is an absolute gem that should be on every nature lover's must-visit list. Nestled within the stunning Golden Gate National Recreation Area, this vantage point offers breathtaking panoramic views that will leave you in awe.

As soon as I arrived at Hawk Hill, I was greeted by the invigorating scent of eucalyptus trees and the sound of birds chirping in the distance. The hike up to the summit was a pleasant and rewarding experience, with well-maintained trails that winded through lush greenery. Along the way, I encountered various flora and fauna, adding to the overall charm of the journey.

Once I reached the top of Hawk Hill, I was immediately captivated by the awe-inspiring vistas that unfolded before my eyes. The expansive view of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco Bay, and the city skyline was simply breathtaking. The sight of the majestic bridge looming against the backdrop of the Pacific Ocean is a sight that will forever be etched in my memory.

The beauty of Hawk Hill is not limited to its panoramic views; it is also a haven for bird enthusiasts. The hill is renowned as a prime location for bird watching, particularly during the spring and fall when migratory raptors pass through. I was fortunate enough to witness a magnificent display of raptors soaring gracefully in the sky, their wings spanning wide as they navigated the currents. It was an extraordinary sight that left me in awe of the wonders of nature.

The amenities at Hawk Hill are well-maintained and visitor-friendly. There are several viewing platforms strategically placed to ensure optimal viewpoints, allowing visitors to fully immerse themselves in the beauty of the surroundings. The park rangers and staff were knowledgeable and friendly, providing helpful information about the area and offering insights into the diverse wildlife that calls this place...
