I usually like to come here to study because I like the large study tables and openness of the facility, but I am disappointed with the management recently. I have visited the Library to find patrons sleeping (and snoring!) on the bench by the restrooms. The ladies restroom facilities are dirty, and the toilet paper is the worst I have ever had to use. It tears so easily, and it's all over the floor. Using the restroom with the current toilet paper supplier is also a struggle for those with disabilities and kids to easily use the restroom during their visit. It shouldn't be that difficult to get toilet paper!!!!! The main area with the tables gets loud after Clemens High School is released around 4:00 PM because many kids and teenagers are hanging out while waiting for a ride. There needs to be designated space so that the main library can still be a quiet area for work, study, reading, etc. and kids and teenagers are able to use the library while waiting for parent pick up or while getting tutoring.

I really enjoy going to this library... it’s very open and spacious. There is lots of sitting for studying. There is a separate children’s section with a play area and sitting for parents as well. The staff is nice and willing to offer help. Great playscape, YMCA, and Aquatic Center next to the the library. Also, this library stays open later than other libraries in the area especially, during the week which works great for the working class college student, like myself. 👩🏽‍🎓👩🏽‍🏫👩🏽‍💼

Thank you for opening the space every Friday at 11am with Spanish classes for children I highly recommend it. We already have more than 20 children every Friday and it is a space that allows us to connect many Hispanic mothers and our children. Thanks Library and thanks Mariana 🥰

Stay far, far away! Despite their lack or selection of books in the children's area (with no inter-library loan program that I was able to find) and their abnormally small limit on the number of items your allowed to check out, we chose to use this library any way because it was the closest to us. Big mistake! I have been using this library for 3 months now and it has been nothing but frustration and pain.

Due to the limited selection, 99% of the time I was not able to find the books that I wanted to check out and would have to put a hold in online. (Their lack of organization didn't help, but I usually checked in the computer just to be sure and they were almost always checked out.) When items were placed on the hold shelf, they were held for less than a week. Therefore, if they were placed on the shelf later in the day (after my visit) or the next day, I would have to make a special trip just to pick-up books rather than waiting until our next weekly visit. Majority of the books that we were able to check out were in some of the worst shape I've ever seen from library books (or any books for that matter). Often there was tape/mending done on every single page of the book. It also looked like the official "Schertz Library" stamp was given to a toddler who proceeded to stamp every third page or so.

Separate from my grievances with the books and general library system, the staff is some of the most unhelpful I've encountered to date. I often stood waiting for extended periods of time at the help desk in the children's area trying to figure out where the librarian could possibly be. One time I stood there for about 15 minutes and watched the librarian talk to a friend across the room. Periodically she would look up at me like "oh, you're still there" and then continue her conversation. When they finally finished their conversation in their own sweet time, she slowly made her way over to the desk and asked if she could help me with anything.

It seems like this library was given a lot of money to build a fancy building, and in that project they lost sight of the purpose of a library. I feel like visiting at least once a week every week for 3 months is more than enough time to "give them a chance". This location gives libraries a bad name and I for one don't want to...

This is the only place I go to study, but after today I don't know if this will be my go to place anymore. I've been coming here for years and have always used the study rooms. I like the peace, quiet, and the fact that it is enclosed. It keeps me from getting distracted from the regular movement of the library. Throughout the years, I have always used the rooms with the lights off. I've had librarians knock on the door and ask me to turn the light on, but after explaining that I cannot concentrate with it on they usually let me be. Today, I had a librarian barge into the room, turn on the light, tell me I need to keep it on, and left without me getting a word out. After staring at my untouched work for a few minutes, I proceeded to find her and tried to explain the situation and deals I've had with other librarians in the past. She said, well sorry but it is what it is and turned away.I understand that this is probably a policy fro your library, but I would think you would accommodate your patrons requests, especially if they are coming to you explaining the circumstances. I would understand not accepting the request if I was being noisy and not doing actual work in the room, but I was. I would also be more receptive if the librarian did not barge into the room the way they did to begin with. This is still a great library regardless, but I am upset with how they handled the situation. If the librarian would have came into the room in a nicer way and actually attempted to hear me out, instead of brush me off, I would not be writing this review. Regardless, this is a really nice library filled with various books for all ages. It's worth going to and checking out. They have events for kids and adults throughout the month . Don't let my one bad experience keep you from coming to a otherwise...

NEVER GO THERE IF YOU ARE TRYING TO STUDY QUIETLY. YOU CAN SEE THE OTHER REVIEWS AGREEING HOW LOUD IT IS. In the quiet room people are loudly talking and staff does not manage them at all. I was trying to study there for the first time but could not study due to the fact that people were loud. First I had to move because there was a guy who was tutoring in a quiet room loudly and I could clearly hear what they were talking about 2 rooms away. Then I moved to different quiet room but this time there was a women talking on a phone loudly 2 rooms away from me. So I decided to move again and for about 5 min it was quiet before a dad and 2 children decided to take the room right next to mine and the kids were yelling in a quiet room. Not only that but there was a kid who was crying in a library that was really loud and the staffs didn't do anything about it. The room is clearly called the "quiet room". This was one of the worst experience I had. Staff didnt care how loud the library was and didnt try to stop it. I usually never review the places that I had been but this is my first time. That's how bad this place is for studying. NEVER GO THERE IF YOU ARE...
