Royal Donuts — Restaurant in Schertz

This was our 1st time here. We came the day before but did not know it was cash only, so we did not purchase because we did not have time to go get cash and come back (still giving 5 stars because well I should have checked and everything else made up for it). The couple running this place are very friendly, and they are constantly refilling their stock. Their donuts are so good. My husband said he has never had an eclair that good. Usually, when we get eclairs, there is not much filling and just a bunch of dough, but these are perfect. Every bite had filling! This place is a must. I went awhile back because I was in the area. Got my dozen all selected to find out they only take cash. What? So I had to leave, do a U-turn on Schertz parkway and head to find an ATM. ATM that's right there at the corner store charges an arm and a leg. Than had to head back to pay with the cash....donuts were good but I have never been back because I never carry cash. I understand taking cards cost money but it cost customers more money to use the ATM! I just went this morning at 8:50am and they were out of everything I asked for, and none of it was anything crazy. The we're Out of all three types or kolaches and donut holes. I'm not sure what else they were out of but I'm sure it was more than that. Seems a little early to be out of stuff, especially for what seems like super common items. They also only take cash.
