My grandfather took his 2021 Toyota RAV4 in for routine service today. We had a scheduled appointment at 12:00pm. We were told to pick up the car in 2-2 1/2 hours. We came back at 2:30 p.m., nothing. The car wasn't even moved from where he dropped it off. He went in and inquired about the status of the vehicle, where they said they will get to it right away. 30 minutes later they call saying the oil and tire rotation was completed. We arrive at Flynn and find the car moved from where we dropped it off, but when checking the tires, we found the front right passenger missing a valve stem cap, which was missing when we brought the car in, indicating they did not rotate the tires. When reasonably complained to an employee, we were met with attitude, disrespect, and all around poor customer service. The employee personally lied saying he witnessed them rotate the tires. Nothing was said or done, or an offer to rotate the tires. We were given an unreasonable excuse, that was a flat out lie. Not sure of many mechanics who can get your car in, get the oil changed, then rotate the tires in just 30 minutes. Then leave a tire missing a valve stem cap. Additionally, when asked for a manager, they said he would not be in till Thursday. What business should run without a manager or some sort of supervisor always on staff during operating hours, especially during a work week?

Right away I felt like it was nothing but a sales job
They wanted me to come in so they could try to convince me that I needed all four tires
I didn't ask for their opinion I asked for pricing
After I got the pricing I went to Flynns to have tires I chose put on my car
Of course when I asked again about the tires I wanted, the person tried to talk me out of them and into buying more expensive tires
I asked him if the economy tires had a warranty
You should have seen his face, he kept trying to dodge the answer by saying ...well, you know there are no guarantees and the Pittsburgh roads have a lot of potholes
I asked the question again..."is there, or is there not a warranty on these tires?"
He said there was a 40,000 mile warranty
I asked him if there was a warranty on the tires he was trying to sell me (that were twice as much as the economy)
He said yes there is a 50,000 mile warranty
So I confirmed that there was only a 10,000 mile difference between the economy tires and the tires he was trying to sell me
He did not want to give me a confirmation, we had to go through the nonsense about the condition of the Pittsburgh roads again

Read moreI went to Flynn's to get my AC fixed. My bf and I had taken my car to another shop closer that didn't even have my car there two or three hours before calling to say it was ready. They called stating they had charged my AC and used dye, but that there might be a leak. They didn't bother to determine where the leak was. I picked up the car the following day and the AC wasn't working. We called back.to inform the prior mechanic and he seemed annoyed that we called. My bf and I decided we would prefer to take our car to Flynns and I am VERY glad we did.
I instantly felt better about going to Flynns. The environment was far more professional. I felt more confident in the business and their abilities. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. For second, the mechanic handling my car called me to say he felt it was an issue with the condenser and gave me a quote before doing any work. He was very direct and informative. He gave me approximate time frames as well. My car was fixed the following afternoon and ready to go. My AC is working great-- such a blessing since it has been in the 80s, almost 90s, the last few days.
We had such a great experience with my car that my boyfriend intends to get his car serviced there as well. I think I now have a car shop...
