This is my 8th time at this resort. If it wasn't for my work choosing it and covering expenses..I would not stay here. I hope management reads this and actually does something besides a generic response.
Get ready for the pushy-est timeshare people you’ve ever experienced. After checking Checking in I was exhausted from taking a 4 AM flight and the timeshare people were relentless.. "Hi we would love to invite you to.... Or give you a welcome package..." I kept saying "No thank you I’m not interested." I think I had to say it about seven times before I finally turned around and said "NO! THANK YOU!" loudly and walked out the door. Guests shouldn't have to repeat themselves over and over and be hounded by them. We are exhausted from travel, have our luggage to tow to the room..and just want to relax. Maybe some people fall for these time share packages.. but for those that know better and say "no thank you", please respect our wishes.
During my stay I had about 3 voice messages left on the room's voicemail. Also, every time you go to the front desk/lobby, they try to bother you again... Timeshare people, yes you are friendly, yes you are just doing your job, but please try to read the room.. many guests are not interested and just want to relax and not be bothered while staying here.
The room was filthy. Snot was all over the walls. Carpet dirty. Bathtub dirty. Fast forward after already staying here for a week (total of 2 weeks) we asked for the room to be cleaned, all they did was make the bed. The floors were extremely dirty.. and it goes on. I approached front desk about this and they informed me I was given a "basic clean". Well for one, nothing was cleaned. And second, When a guest calls and asks to have their room cleaned after a week.. We expect more than just a bed to be made.
The cleaning staff are out and about allll day. You can hear them at 7:30am speaking in their mother-tongue outside the rooms loudly, buzzing around in their golf carts… and there are dozens of them! I like to go for quiet morning walks, and this is not possible at this resort. The cleaning staff are VERY loud, and leave their carts all over the premise. Why do they block multiple parking spots with their carts/golf carts? Also, I counted 6 times that they walked right passed me on the narrow side walk and frowned at me while I had to step out of the way… I'm a guest! How rude. This happened every day btw. Definitely not Hilton quality.
Don't bother texting front desk (as they encourage you to do it you need anything).. they don't respond.
Upon check in, no one offers to help you with your bags. It doesn’t matter if you’re pregnant, elderly or in a wheelchair, they will never offer to help you to your room. Don't expect this.
I have stayed here for the past 8 years... I have definitely noticed a different quality of guests, especially in the past year. I would say around 50% of the guests that come here now are loud, rude, and drunk. Very rude in the pool not mindful of others. Shouting and screaming at their kids, cussing, splashing those trying to relax. I was here for two weeks and saw a number of questionable guests. I think that's due to the low rates during the very hot days, or low season... but who knows. This is no fault of the hotel, but for guests looking for a place to relax, read, suntan by the pool... Don't come here.
I would highly recommend more deep cleans to the room (walls, carpet, couches) with quality checks..also for staff to be told to act professional while on shift and keep their volume down and not race the golf carts around and block guest parking spots. -No smoking in the pool should also be enforced. -Obviously drunk/obnoxious patrons should be removed from the pool. (saw one guy hit his head, no staff around). -This place used to be peaceful, clean, quiet (they even had pool games like bingo) unfortunately the past 3 years it has gone WAY down hill. But this is the worst I've seen it.
Upper management, please come do regular sweeps of this location. Do...
Read moreThis is the text of a complaint I just filed with the Florida Attorney General against Hilton Grand Vacations. Florida is its headquarters. If you booked through Hilton I also would recommend filing a complaint against Hilton with the Virginia State Attorney General. Virginia is where Hilton is headquartered. Hilton and its affiliates and franchisees play a game where they try to bounce responsibility to the other party when problems arise.
"I stay in roughly 100 hotels a year, 1000 in the past ten. On September 24, 2024, I booked online through Hilton as a Hilton Diamond member a one-night stay (Confirmation #3138843783) at the Hilton Vacation Club Scottsdale Villa Mirage. The price was $136.82 with tax (See attachment for booking confirmation email). When I arrived at the hotel on the afternoon of September 25, 2024, the front desk employees were comprised of a male and a female assistant manager, with the male handling this aspect of our encounter. He asked me many questions related to my stay, more than I almost ever encounter, and then finally informed me that I was about to be charged for the room AND a $300 incidentals hold, something at no point I had been made aware of prior to this moment. In fact, I can count on a few fingers the number of times in 1000 hotel stays that I have been asked for as much as $150 as an incidentals hold. Thus, among other things, $300 was double the most extreme figure, $150, I ever had encountered and, as indicated, I only had encountered that figure in VERY limited instances out of 1000 hotel stays. I told the hotel I would not authorize that type of hold. The male employee told me the confirmation email I had received after booking the reservation had informed me of the $300 hold. I said I had not seen that figure and if I had I would have cancelled. Frankly, just on principle, I considered the amount obscene and it also dwarfed the cost of the stay itself. Others I am sure simply are unable to afford that sort of unannounced hold and are effectively put out on the street. In my case, the hotel, unwilling to budge on the $300 and lying as well about my being informed previously, cancelled the reservation at that point. Again, the attached confirmation email demonstrates I was told nothing about $300. The cancellation caused me to have to scurry quickly to find other lodging and was very disruptive overall. After leaving the hotel I retrieved the email and saw that it said nothing about a $300 hold. I went back to the hotel and spoke to the female assistant manager. I showed her the email. The assistant manager, discerning from the email that nothing had been stated about a $300 incidentals hold, then segued into trying to tell me that there was something so special about this hotel that it justified that amount. I informed her that in 1000 hotel stays I have stayed in at least a few, to put mildly for purposes of this complaint, of the highest end hotels in the past. I further asked her, as the confirmation email does state that an estimate of prospective incidental costs will be held, how the hotel estimated that I would spend $300 in one night in addition to the cost of the room. Obviously, she could not provide an answer, but fell back again on discussing how special the hotel was and how big the rooms are as some sort of justification. I informed her that the hotel still had time to rectify the matter, but that very shortly, among other things, absent the matter being rectified, I would be filing this complaint. I gave her my business card. I never heard...
Read moreThis hotel is LOVELY!!! It was clean and smelled nice. The staff is super friendly and kind hearted. They go above and beyond to make sure your stay is comfortable. I really appreciated all of their text messages checking on us and giving us the opportunity to ask for anything we needed so easily. We even got locked out one night with just the clothes on our backs and they were able to let us back into our room quickly.||The living room furniture is comfortable, the bathroom was perfect for me. I need a tub and it had one with safety bars, a towel rack near by, strong water pressure, perfectly hot water and the shampoo, conditioner and moisturizer was spa worthy. The shower looked nice too, my mom enjoy it. She said it took a while to get the water to get hot at first. The hot water was quick and wonderful throughout our stay after that. They provide many towels. Face wash cloths rolled up on the sink in a fancy little pyramid, many towels hung on the racks, and extra towels and toilet paper under the sink.|The kitchen has nearly everything: towels, pot holders, pots, pans, knives, cutlery, flatware, wine, glasses, mugs, drinking cups, that are plastic and can be taken to the pool. They even provided dish soap and a sponge, lots of cabinet space and a big refrigerator in freezer. The counter space where we ate most of the time was very spacious. When our family came over, we use the small but comfortable dining table as well and the living room furniture. Everyone loved the recliner. The couch is also a pullout bed that is made up and ready to go. We didn’t use it so I don’t know if it is comfortable, but we it was very comfortable to sit on. There is also a fireplace in the living room, dining room kitchen area since it’s all open concept I’m sure it would heat the majority of the space but we didn’t use it so I can’t say for sure. This might sound silly, but the big beautiful mirror in the living room was very helpful.|There’s a balcony that looks out on the complex and three different types of trees. We could hear running water from there. It was very relaxing, a perfect place to meditate.|The bedroom is big. It contains a large dresser and two bedside chests of drawers and a closet with a safe, extra blankets and towels for the pool. Just like the other rooms everything in it was very clean. My mom and I shared a king size bed. It was huge. The mattress was soft and if you like big, thick puffy pillows, you will love these. I like a thin pillow, so I brought my own. I slept very well.|There are two very large TV’s. One in the living room and the other in the bedroom. Which we never turned on. There are also other amenities we did not get the chance to experience like the pool, Starbucks, and a proper restaurant. There are probably more amenities as well.|We just visited this past weekend in July 2025 and in Scottsdale Arizona was very hot. I think it was about 100 to 110 each day. They must have refrigerated air because it was very cool when set to at...
