Absolutely horrendous vibes at this place. I called earlier today to ask if they had walk-in availability, and they said yes. So I showed up and noticed there were only three staff members and three clients. I assumed they must be wrapping up with someone soon if they said they could take me.
They seated me, and Linda began working on my nails. Right away, I noticed she was using nail tips that were way too narrow for my natural nail bed, completely the wrong size. It looked terrible.
Meanwhile, the person sitting next to me asked how much longer it would take for them to start her nails since she had already been soaking hers for over an hour. Beverly, the other nail tech, replied that theyād be done with me quickly because I was ājust getting a dip powder set.ā But from my experience at other Scottsdale salons, dip powder always takes at least an hour. So were they really going to make that poor woman wait even longer? I felt terrible for her, and honestly, the whole vibe started feeling really off.
The station they put me at was also filthy and really gross. On top of that, there was no TV, no music, nothing. Just complete silence, which made it feel even more uncomfortable.
Beverly tried to justify their mismanagement by saying one staff member had decided to go to brunch and another had recently moved out of state. But if they were so short-staffed, why did they tell me on the phone that they had availability, especially when they clearly still had a client waiting?
Once I saw how bad the nail tips looked, I asked to have them removed and walked out and wished the other client good luck. How this place has any good reviews at all is crazy to me after this experience. First time here and won't be back.
Updating my review per Beverly's response:
Beverly, be so for real right now. How am I supposed to take you seriously when after I showed you how poorly she applied the tips to my nails, the first thing you did was throw all your coworkers under the bus, including saying that Linda normally does pedicures and not manicures, implying that she is not experienced with manis. If she can't do something as simple as applying the properly sized nail tips, and I'm also hearing you say that she doesn't normally do manis, I have enough foresight to cut my losses and leave a situation.
As far as wasting your time - I am the one who had to go out of my way to drive to your salon, and sit there, watching your inexperienced nail tech apply the wrong sized nail tips, awkwardly have to ask to have them taken off, while the client next to me is visibly upset. If we are comparing whose time was wasted the most, it was definitely mine. And again, if you were so busy why did you tell me it was okay for me to come in, in the first place? Your lack of professionalism and courtesy is appalling. Also, please let me know what you would have liked to charge me for this, I am very interested to hear.
Maybe instead of making excuses, you can take this as a lesson in time management and customer service so that your future clients don't have to have their time...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI typically donāt write reviews, but I felt the need to share my experience here. I came into the salon at 5pm and told the nail lady what I needed to get done and that I would need to be out by 6pm because I had somewhere to go. She said it was fine and I was immediately sat and got started with removing my nails. The lady that was assigned to me clipped each side of my nails and removed the tips of my acrylics by ripping them off by the sides. When she got to my thumb, she ripped off the part of my nail that was attached to my nail bed and it started bleeding. She proceeded to try and rip it off using her tools and drilled over it very roughly after I had told her to please be careful because it hurt so badly. Instead of being more careful around the area she gave up on it and just glued a plastic tip on top instead while it still had the leftover acrylic from last time. I made sure to tell Naomi about my concern with it and she was able to take care of this afterwards. In the meantime the same nail lady continued on my nails and did the worst job on my nails that I had ever seen. I pointed out that the tip she glued onto my nail had a gap and was not fully glued and she ignored it and put acrylic powder over instead without making sure it was properly glued on. Before Naomi stepped in to finish the nails the nail lady had drilled down the acrylic to smoothen it, but the nails were all uneven and bumpy. All of my nails were also different lengths, and while drilling my nails, she scuffed my skin which also started to bleed. I told the lady that I had to be done by 7pm at the LATEST by this point and she ignored me. I also noticed that after I had complained about the condition my nails were in she started to get frustrated and started yanking my arm when she needed my hand to be closer to her. I did not get done with my nails until 8pm and I missed my meeting that I had to go to.
I will say, Iām happy with how Naomi stepped in and how she fixed the rest as much as she could, as I made sure to point out to her what I was unsatisfied with. I wish that I had known I would not have actually been done at 6pm, otherwise I wouldāve gone elsewhere and made it to my meeting. Iām normally not one to be picky about my nails, but this was a very frustrating experience. I was told I would get a discount but she only took off my acrylic removal and $5 from the normal full set price. I left still having to pay $50. While I was here, there were a total of 3 other women who were not pleased with their nails. One girl said she had been there for 3.5 hours. The other two also had issues with their nails. I had been there for 3 hours and it costed me a meeting I had to go to. I decided to come here because of how great of reviews they had, but after my experience Iām questioning how they have so many...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreMy husband and I went to get pedicures, and me a gel manicure. There was a bit of a wait and the guy there was very apologetic about it. Our pedicure service was in general good until I notice he was using the same file he used on the girl before us on our toes, which is a big no-no. This unfortunately wasnāt the most frustrating part though. When it was time for the manicure I showed the girl an inspo picture and repeated multiple times I wanted it done on my NATURAL nails and they didnāt need to be that shape. She kept insisting I do gel-x. I finally gave in because I figured it would still be cute and I was exhausted after being there longer than intended at this point (I had called to make appointments the day before, I did not think weād have to wait as long as we did). She then proceeded to apply the gel-x extensions and did a terrible job!! I had 3 nails that were crooked (and NO my nails do not grow that way!!) and a bunch of the extend gel was under my nails. She lazily tried to remove some of it but when I got home I had to take my e-file and some tweezers to remove SO MUCH from nearly every nail. I also wanted an opaque white color and she did pink glaze??? And I wanted a simple BLACK bow on the 4th fingers with a gem. She kept trying to get me to say okay to using a small GOLD bow from a Christmas sticker pack that didnāt even look like the bow I wanted. I insisted I wanted a black bow with the gem like the picture showed, and from there she got visibly upset with me. Angrily put the stickers back and took the e-file (which by the way still had the dust from the last client on it!) and started filing for⦠no reason? I still donāt know what she was doing other than hurting me?? The base color was already painted and cure!? She did what I asked with an attitude (did not do a good job but at this point I was so unbelievably done and IN PAIN that I did not care), she applied the top coat and I got up, we paid and left. I cried in the car and was so upset I paid for such shitty and unsanitary service and left with cut up and one bleeding cuticle. (Again, the guy was very kind to both of us, just didnāt use proper regulations when it came to sanitation and infection control which is definitely concerning)
And also my cuticles have been really itchy since this service which I am very concerned about!! There were open cuts after she angrily used the UNSANITIZED efile on me which has me VERY concerned!! I wish I never came to this salon and I really wish I never PAID for this. I let her talk me into something more expensive than I intended on to make it ābetterā and left feeling so defeated and with ugly nails.
I have never had an experience this terrible before, I will never recommend this place to...
