I guess the first thing that really infuriated me is they change the hours at the local store but they were not updated online, either through the GameStop site or just a Google search. They were later changed but that did not change the fact that we went to the store at 11:00 on a weekday expecting it to be open as it had been before, but it was closed. Also, I ran into my brother in the store one day, and he told the cashier that he had points he wanted to redeem. The cashier said that no points could be redeemed in store. They didn't really explain what he needed to do so the cashier was not very helpful. He could have at least showed him on the app or the site where he needed to go, or even just tell somebody where to go online. The app rarely works for me, so I just deleted it and have gone online. However that really hasn't helped either. I guess I expect since GameStop does deal with types of technology that the site would be a little better laid out and wouldn't have so many pitfalls when trying to navigate anywhere. You have to hunt down things that you should n't have to. So basically the flow of the website is not really conducive for customer service, but ask GameStop is a store, is definitely conducive to pushing a rewards program that really doesn't do anything if they don't honor the coupon codes when you get them or the cashiers don't want to help you when you say you want to redeem points in store. They also usually don't have anything that we want in stock, so that means again we're stuck paying shipping and handling when many stores will order the item for you or you can order online and have it sent to the store at no fee. I really really don't like GameStop at this point. They change their pro rewards up so much that it's really not beneficial, especially when you can't even redeem any points, and the monthly $5 reward just ends up going towards shipping and doesn't even cover the whole amount. And speaking of the pro account, I have tried desperately to redeem points for a long time now. I even have a coupon from August of 2023 from where I redeemed points, and that coupon is showing active even though it expired on 8/31/2023. However at the time, in August of 2023, I experienced the same issues and was not able to use the promo code/coupon so I basically just lost the $15 because they wouldn't redeem it last time.As I use GameStop primarily for my teenagers, I'm just going to have to let them know the pitfalls of actually using GameStop and if something is available from another company, order from them. I won't be renewing the pro account because again, it's...
Read moreWas looking for a PS4 gaming system. They had a slim 1TB, which is exactly what I wanted with 3 games which I haven't seen before. Of course, I was looking on line and it just didn't pop up in my search. The price was $299, which at the moment I thought was reasonable and $65 for a controller which I knew was a bit pricey. I stepped away for a moment and looked it up on my phone for Walmart and it was $264 for the system and $45 for the controller. When we went back to get the system it was priced at $249. So we were able to get the entire system under $300 with another controller!! The one plus was that that the associate was very knowledgeable and gave me good background information...
