This post is for Golden Garden's Beach and Golden Garden's Park.
Over 20 years ago, ('04 - '05) I had my boat moored at Shilshole Bay Marina which is right next to Golden Garden's Beach and Park. I have spent a lot of time there watching the wind surfers and people on the beach flying kites, along with the volleyball players. The beach is a great place for barbecue. They have designated fire pits and benches to sit on all throughout the area. Golden Garden's Park is another great place to have a Wonderful Day and barbecue. There are designated barbecue areas throughout the park and some semi covered areas as well. There are bathrooms and Porta Potties, and a Huge Playground which is a great place for the kids to play! At one point, I had the opportunity to play football with the staff from the KISW Radio Station as they were there that day. It was Really Cool!!! There is also a "hall" that can be reserved for weddings / receptions and private parties. Both Golden Garden's Beach & Park are Great places to have fun at! I know I will be...
Read moreGolden Gardens is a beach on the northwest side of Ballard, right through the Sunset Hill neighborhood. Parking here can be a disaster sometimes, especially weekends or nice afternoons so be prepared to park at the marina and walk a bit or wait a while. For some reason, people forget how to drive when they get here so pay attention when coming through here. The beach is split in two - the sandy side where people play or go in the water, and the rocky side where people walk to find shells and such. This is a popular spot for big groups, coming to either use the grills or setup on the north side. Definitely a spot to come to if you're here anytime between March and October, even if it's just to see the sailboats or even some wildlife...
Read moreFirst time visiting Golden Gardens Park--and wow, what a gem! It feels like one of Seattle's best-kept secrets, especially for locals who know where to go for some peace by the water. The beach is absolutely stunning, with sweeping views of Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains in the distance. Whether you're into sunbathing, swimming, beach volleyball , or just strolling along the shore, there's something for everyone here.
One of the best parts is the convenience--there's a good amount of free parking, which is a rare treat in Seattle! Just try to come early, especially on weekends or holidays, as it can get busy.
The vibe is laid-back and family-friendly, with picnic areas, fire pits, and lots of space to relax. We had such a great time and can't wait to come back.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a beautiful day by the...
