Gatlinburg Pigeon Forge Airport — Attraction in Sevierville

One of the Best small airports around the entire east TN area. The airport has a wonderfully nice FBO, fuel services and there is even a Helicopter training and tour facility (Sevier County Choppers) located on the premises. I just read an earlier bad review from someone calling himself "Hiking Hippie", pay no attn to that review due to what i sumize is someone that is dissing and ashamed to post their profile to compliment their review. That person also must not understand that there is a flight school on the airport in which requires a lot of pattern work as well as air medical service that responds to life threatening emergencies all over the region. The Helicopter training mostly takes place during the day when people are at work so apparently while spreading his apparent ignorance he is showing the world that he is unemployed and has nothing better to do than to be negative and get handouts. Its people like this that always try to taint things for everyone else. Noise pollution with aircraft from this airport has become a big problem for locals. It’s as if aviation has become NASCAR and the pilots can only fly counter-clockwise circles every 3-5 minutes over the same part of town. The sad pilots here have nothing else to do with their time except waste fuel and their lives going on endless circles while driving those underneath mad with the constant, predictable low droan approach from one ear that takes nearly a full minute to finally arch around, sometimes speeding up and sometimes slowing down so that it drags out even longer, to the other ear before what seems like an eternity later has made its circle and the roar of the engine has gone silent...until a second plane comes to make a second circle and repeats the cycle. It really does grow tiresome...got to let people live out their fantasies...

Flew in for Spring Break vacation. Greeted on Unicom and after tie down they had my rental ready at the plane! One of the days there was a chance for severe storms and they accommodated my plane in a hangar for that night. As we headed back to the airport once the vacation was over the plane was already topped off and ready to go! Awesome staff and can't wait to visit this area again.

All around great experience. I'm very glad that the US still has the greatest General Aviation system in the world and Airports like KGKT are very good for the aviation community. Keep up...
