FOOD POISONING!! Unsanitary food handling. Old, poor quality food. My son and I have never been this sick in our lives before. I ordered their chicken with rice and a chicken roll to go. The lady that was at the cashier register went into the back and put the chicken and rice into the to go container without using gloves or washing her hands. The man that took over the cash register put the chicken roll into the paper bag, ALSO without gloves or washing his hands. I gave it the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe they washed or sanitise their hands prior to me coming in (also I never had any stomach issues when the previous owner was running it).

The chicken WAS NOT FRESH, it was hard and crumbling in my mouth as I was chewing it. It had no flavour and it seemed like it was left out for days. That same day, two hours after I tried the chicken and the rice, I started to become extremely ill. I was in bed for two days too weak to get up.

My son took TWO BITES of the chicken roll. That same night he spontaneously vomited while sleeping. He ran to the bathroom in the middle of the night projectile vomiting. For the next two days he continued to vomit and be extremely sick.

The MDH and public health inspectors need to take a look...

Worst food experience ever. This place has been handed down to a new family member cover the on going fraud and it's even worst. DO NOT!! I repeat DO NOT!!!! Waste your money you're better off at cross the street McDonalds or even Burger king. Unfortunately I wasted my money on the "gyro" and if I would of known half the taste I would of avoided it at all cost. Had the gyro and it was broiled hard crumble meat full of broiled fried oil as if previous day overs and to top it off got the drink can which even after wiping it off it smelled like as if I was rubbing that musky talk lotion smell on my nose as I tried sipping my only hope of washing bad taste of food and turned even worst having to sip through their perfume or lotion smell and taste from the rim of the drink. If I could give it negative stars it would be -5⭐👎🏾. Not to go into the hygene of flies around the place and the sticky floors and tables. The FDA and City of Shakopee need to be aware...

I came here based on the reviews and was not disappointed.

For lunch I got the gyro platter with seasoned fries, the house pineapple drink, and a beef sambusa. The food is reasonably priced, cooked to order, and served in great portions. This is easily one of the best gyros I've ever had, and it's loaded with tzatziki and meat; no skimping here. But the real winner is the pineapple drink, it's amazingly sweet and refreshing.

This place is clean, has lively music, and most importantly is hospitable. The guys running it are very welcoming and went out of their way to take care of me (and the other guests that came in after me, I noticed). If your local or passing through Shakopee, definitely stop in here...
