To be completely honest this store is not visually appealing and the floors look like they haven’t seen a wax since the Regan administration BUT don’t judge a book by its cover. They have the best quality and value meat of any grocery store in the area. I trust the sanitation of the folks at this store tenfold over a factory butchered meat and substantially more than my local food lion butcher. I wish they’d do a renovation to modernize their shop and start carrying more modern products. Then I’d do all my shopping there. But for now, this is where I’m headed for all my meats and locally sustainably sourced produce. Whole Foods has nothing on Hills. This location has a lot of potential.
Maybe the good folks at Lowe’s could give this locally owned grocer on the eastern side of the state some pointers so they don’t get stomped out by Ahold Delhaize in their market, it really is a shame that what was a Salisbury NC owned shop is now owned by some mega corporation in the Netherlands. A country which has essentially pushed 1 in 3 of its own farmers to what will soon mean sure closure due to strict nitrogen emission limitations imposed ass a part of the 2030...
Read moreHills, though smaller in comparison with some stores may not be as large, but that is an advantage for us shoppers especially like me, I'm a Senior and Disabled. It's very important to be able to shop for our needs in a smaller store, know we're getting such all around great reward for shopping there. They stock this store with all the items You want but are quality and with their weekly different select items that are discounted, gives You the extra incentive to shop there. The store is well stocked with great fresh items, some of which are local grown and their meats are fresh cut. They also have great fresh bakery items. Management is very personable and the cashiers and others are very friendly and helpful. You get a great experience here! It's well worth shopping at and supporting Your local grocer who goes the extra mile and gives You a wonderful shopping trip, quality items and excellent customer service. Love Hills! Thanks for making Seniors and the disabled feel welcome and for making Your Store A Great Place...
Read moreHonestly surprised they're still open. They have plenty of variety like any other supermarket while also selling products grown by local farmers. They're prices are noticeably higher the only thing you do get a decent deal on is the meats they sell. They mostly just sell beef and pork tho, not a big selection of seafood or poultry and no lamb. The place also smells of mildew and the 1970s, which would explain the moldy strawberries I saw in the fruit section. I came here looking for lamb chops and when I asked the butcher if they sold lamb he gave me a very short and gruff no and looked at me the entire time like I was some kind of idiot for asking. As I said I dont see why they're still open, they should replace it with a Lowe's food...
