You can not find a better value for your money and the quality of sushi than at Shallotte Hibachi. I highly recommend a visit if you enjoy sushi. However, stay away from the tossed seafood in a bag. I've had this in Pensacola Fla. and seafood served this way this way when done right is amazing. Go to a place that specializes in it. Here I ordered 1lb of shrimp, 1/2 lb of clams, 1/2lb mussels, 2 corns, 5 potatoes all in garlic butter sauce. Price $28.00. Value price is great as this would usually cost between $36 and 40+ . However, I'll be brutally honest, stick with the sushi and hibachi. Except for the potatoes and corn, everything was beyond bland and overcooked. The worst were the shrimp. Pasty texture that turned into mush when trying to peel them. Inedible and very disappointed. I'll be back to enjoy all the other items on menu, just not the seafood...

I’m 34 weeks pregnant and have been absolutely craving hibachi. I ordered take out, a chicken bowl and a steak entree medium rare with salad. When I arrived I was shocked out how clean and tidy the place was. That made me think the food would be amazing! The bag was stapled closed and they said everything was in there so I rolled out!

When I got home 20 mins later.. the salad was missing. The steak was far from medium rare it was well done and tasted like pure shrimp and there was no shrimp on the plate. My chicken was so rubbery I was afraid it was undercooked. I tried to cook it some more on a pan of my own. It turned out even MORE rubbery and looks almost translucent. My brother and I were in Shallotte today, and we decided to eat lunch here. It was our first time, and it did not disappoint! First of all, the lunch buffet price is $11.99 without a drink. That is the CHEAPEST buffet price I've paid for in YEARS. Is it worth it? ABSOLUTELY. They have the traditional buffet and the hibachi grill if you want to pick your food out and have it cooked. I ate a lot today, mostly just trying out their selection. The only thing I didn't care for was the sesame meatballs.
