Pending covid our family has been here for at least the last 6 times that the "holiday in lights" were available. Our family has loved it every single time and has created wonderful memories that our family will remember for years to come. You cannot say anything bad about the light display. There's something very nostalgic about looking at all the different light fixtures and settings. It's just very beautiful and relaxing. Now, the indoor Winter wonderland experience as a completely different story. If it was possible to give just this experience zero Stars, it would get it... Before going in we had read reviews about people saying about how it changed and now this was a cash grab. We basically just wrote that off to how some people can have sour grapes at the time and just looked forward to going inside. Upon going inside, it was a complete shell of what it used to be. It was a cash grab...and that's being generous. Everything that made the previous events special and fun we're gone (puppets, model trains, caroling and stage shows) what appeared in its place were over priced very basic "attractions". The building felt empty and souless only filled with employees telling us how much things were. The Santa was completely laughable about how offish and not talking he was to my kids. The photographer was the one who was saying things like. "okay guys come in and say hi to Santa" "They guys tell Santa what you want for Christmas" and all Santa would say (have the most quietest voice) "do you want for Christmas...ok now what do you want for Christmas" no laughter no smiles no excitement... Every year my family would always get their pictures taken and then order a snowflake ornament. That was not even an option this year and instead a mandatory smallest package is $40. Basically almost three times more than what we're used to paying for pictures. If we allow to do everything that was there that our children could do it would set us back over $100. To some degree I would even justify paying this if it was like it was in year's past. But this was so much of a blatant cash grab that it's just comical how sad it is now. The only redeeming Factor about going inside was Mrs Claus. That woman deserves a raise.

When I got to the entrance at Sharon Woods Park, the gate was open and there was no-one at the ticket booth. I entered the park, found a ranger and asked if entrance was free that day. They said no, and explained that the person running the ticket booth must have gone to the toilet, and I should go to the other entrance to pay and get my ticket. Sure enough the other both was manned and I paid my admission fee there. I really enjoyed riding my bicycle on the trails, they were well maintained and right in the middle of nature's beauty. I explored the waterfall, which wasn't very impressive as it wasn't the rainy season, but that in turn allowed all the beautifully colored fall leaves to settle on the water right above the falls. That was a bonus for sure. There are some really nice stone bridges crossing the river, and a large lake that has boat rentals. I'm not a golfer, but there is a really nice golf course as well. Lots of facilities for families to have a great day at the park. Highly recommend.

We went there for the Holidays In Lights. A drive thru holiday light display they do every year right after thanksgiving through Christmas. It was a little pricey for what it is but I understand. It's a decent length drive and has some really nice displays. At the end of it they have the park center. Inside consists of photos with Santa. They have a small train display and snacks, homemade cookies, hot chocolate, and hot apple cider. Plus a small little shop that normally stocks nature stuff but has some Christmas knick knacks. Not much parking for how many people and it's kinda small inside so prepare your patience for alot of chaos. It's really crowed in the Santa picture section. Also no private cameras so cell phones away. Very strict about that. Other than that it was fun for the kids.

2021 was a total let down.. My wife and I have been going to this park for the drive through lights and indoor activities for as long as I can remember. As we've grown older and grown our family we've been attending the light show as well as the extra activities offered and letting our children enjoy them as well. This year was a total let down. The lights were the same which was expected but the prices for everything have went up and they've taken away all the indoor activities that my kids have grown to know and love. Its been our little family tradition to enjoy the lights. Head inside for some hot chocolate and freshly baked goodies. Listen to the live carolers. Pictures with Santa and then visiting his toy shop. This year was totally different. No indoor activities. No carolers. The baked treats were gone. Everything was moved outside or just taken away. There are no carolers. There are no fresh baked treats. Now you get a couple of live performers who didn't draw a crowd. Hot chocolate that we were served and told it was cooled down already so we could drink it.. who wants cold hot chocolate on a 30degree night? I am sorry to say that this will be our last year visiting this park for Christmas. They've taken a tradition away from my family and have ruined the great...

Sharon Woods is the greatest park in all of both Hamilton and Butler Counties. Why?

First of all, it's old. Real old. So it has trees. Big trees. Trees that give shade as you're walking around the 2.6 mile lake path. Oh, did I mention there's a lake? And they have small paddleboats you can rent and putz around in.

They have a children's playground with nice equipment and there's always plenty of kids for your kids to play with. They also sell concessions (snacks, drinks, ice cream) right next to the playground.

They have one of those par course things where you go between stations and do various strength and calesthetics type exercises. I don't use this feature, but you sure could.

I could go on and on, because Sharon Woods is simply heads and tails above the rest -- but don't just take my always-right word for it, check it out yourself! You'll be glad you did.

5/5, would visit this park again.

UPDATE 6/4/2022: Google asked me to update this review, but honestly, what more is there to say. It's not called a Great Park for no reason -- it IS great. DISCLAIMER: I am a...
