I would like to start off by stating this the location is extremely beautiful even if the flowers aren't bloomed. When my wife and I took a tour of the property back in February of 2025 we were informed by the owner that it would be updated and barn would have air conditioning. The place would have a beautiful makeover. A few months before my wedding we received an email of the property requiring us to pay $350 for a cleanup fee mandatory prior to this we waived the previous cleanup fee because we were going to do it ourselves. This really hurt our honeymoon budget for a last-minute fee. Mind you we have been signed since February. So if you choose to sign here please make sure everything is set in stone and no surprise fees will come up on you. The venue had leaves in the barn the bridesmaid Suite had spiders dirty tubs and stained up furniture. But like there are two sides to every coin there are also positives. The setup for the barn was our Saving Grace due to rain prior in the day. Parking was amazing as well as well as coordination with the vendors with the venue owner themselves. At the end of the day when it's all said and done me and my beautiful wife had a beautiful wedding. But the most thing that upset us the most was the fee of $350 for cleanup if this fee was made mandatory from the beginning it would not have been as bad When my family clearly did most of work cleaning up regardless. When it's all said and done they will only get two stars out of me because $350 is a lot of money for a surprise charge 2 months before the wedding knowing we've done fully paid our wedding off a...
Read moreFor events at Avonley Homestead, one chooses what Avonley Homestead decor and other items they wish to use; we confirmed with its new owner and an Avonley Homestead representative which items we were planning to use, since we were asked as part of our planning meetings. Though we were told in both that the items that we didn't list would be placed out-of-sight: at a specific side of the barn, multiple large ones (couches, a greenery wall, and two covered tables) weren't moved completely . . . (Since our setup time began at 4:30 p.m. on a Saturday for an event that evening, it was surprising that the space wasn't ready for us . . . !) The only other negative experience that we had with Avonley Homestead was concerning communication. A few months before our event, we and vendors had difficulty getting responses. (For instance, one of those vendors had a call planned, but their calls weren't answered.) Our contact had health challenges that we think were why . . . Despite these situations, things worked out, and we experienced excellent communication in the two weeks before our event. Furthermore, Avonley Homestead was an affordable and aesthetically great option for us, our guests loved it, and its representatives were...
Read moreDue to COVID, our seniors were preparing to graduate without having a prom experience. No junior prom last year and finding out there would be no senior prom this year either was tough.
Avonley Homestead was so gracious and welcoming and we couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful location.
We watched the seniors and their dates as they laughed, danced, sang, played cornhole and took TONS of pictures in front of the beautiful knock-out roses in full bloom, the various props and scenery the venue provided, beautiful landscape and the barn as backgrounds. The kids even insisted that the photographer take the “formal” prom pictures in front of the barn doors.
To say they had a great time and enjoyed the venue would be a serious understatement. We heard from many of the kids that this was the best prom ever! Even several who attended as dates at other schools said this was by far the best prom.
A huge heartfelt thank you to the wonderful owners just doesn’t seem sufficient. Thank you from the bottoms of our hearts - the parents who planned and worked, the parents who heard all about it from their kids and sent us thank texts, and of course from our seniors who had the time fo their lives! THANK...
